Our employer held our company Christmas party at this location. Our trouble began immediately upon entering. Half our group received drinks at the bar, while the other half waited 15+ minutes for a pitcher of beer. We sat over at our lanes and then went to get shoes. While we stood in line, we noticed ONE employee handling the entire bowling alley. She would get a pair of shoes and then have to run to fix a pin. This happened over and over. This poor girl was in tears behind the register. 20 minutes it took to get everyone in our group shoes. We tried to order food, the snack bar was closed because they were short staffed, we were told only three employees were working in the entire establishment. We were told we could order food, but when we tried, we stood at the counter for over 15 watching someone’s order of wings in the window getting cold. Seeing that there was no way our group would receive food, we ordered pizza from Papa Johns and had it delivered. While we were bowling, the lane would freeze up repeatedly, every single round. An employee came and took one of our balls without a word to anyone. He went and grabbed another ball, which the same employee came and took away again. When we asked him, he said 16 pound balls are too heavy...well then why do you even have 16 pound balls?
This place does business despite itself. The staff are clearly miserable and overwhelmed. This is one of the worst managed businesses in State College and we will...
Read moreWent here for lunch while bowling with friends, and could not believe how slow and bad the service was. There seemed to be only 1 person working there, acting as waiter, bartender, possibly cook too? There were only about 10 customers in the restaurant, but it still took about 20 minutes just to place my order and pay, while I alternately talked to the lone employee and then waited for him to go take other people's orders, make drinks, disappear for a while, etc. It was then about 45 minutes until my order came out (a basket of chicken wings and a small pizza, so not a big order). My friends, who placed a similarly-sized order directly after me, never got their food, and after about an hour of waiting had to go back and ask for it to be remade. The lone employee said he took it to a different bowling lane than us, and I guess just left it there, with other people who didn't order it? The food was pretty good when it finally arrived, but we were just blown away with the lack of energy and accuracy and the surly, shrugged-shoulders attitude of the entire interaction. We thought it would be a convenient place to grab food while we were bowling, but it ended up making our game last an hour longer than it should have. Will definitely avoid...
Read morePretty much all of the bartenders are so extremely rude to grubhub drivers. They ignore drivers, have a bad attitude and I've even had one waitress shout the F bomb on her way to the kitchen on a super slow night, definitely implying her frustration was because of me. The food is great, which accredits for one star, but if you're a customer for delivery, just take note that they are not hospitable to the people picking up your food. The second star would be for the random waitress or bouncer who say hello and let you know they're there to...
