Weis Markets — Local services in Ferguson Township

This store blew me away in its size and selection. It honestly has a old school vibe to it that I really like. Staff seems to be pretty good for the most part. Only been there twice so nothing notable has happened per say. My only issue is the pricing. Put simply its outrageous and makes it hard to want to shop there when there are so many other locations nearby. I started out here because it was the first store I found out about and because they have a incredible deli. I just can't afford to go here on the regular.

Edit 1: I have had a chance to see other grocery stores and although I truly love the atmosphere here and selection the value just isn’t there. I know margins are probably tight and there are good reasons behind their pricing but as a college student their pricing just pushes me out. If it was a 10-50 cent difference it would be one thing but on average for the basics they are between 1-3 dollars more expensive. Which really adds up. It can be even more on certain items, so bearing that all in mind I would not recommend if you are trying to stretch...

I've been a Weis Markets shopper for 40 years, and shopping at this particular store for 4.5 years. The store is kept clean, the produce fresh and the staff courteous. The biggest beef I have is that the hot food in the deli case is chronically kept past holding time (PHT). It doesn't matter if it says fresh until 1:20 pm, if you show up at 1:30 there will be several items sitting in the case case, all dried up and wrinkly, just like I found yesterday (6/7/21). I've brought this to the attention of Weis Markets at least 2X, have been told they will "look into it," but they continue to sell dried up old chicken strips. Check the times on the packages people! Everything is always very clean and well organized. I've never seen a line for self checkout. It's never really crowded anywhere.

There are some things they have that Wegman's doesn't which surprised me! This Weis is bumping up their variety! I was really excited to see things like ice cream flavors Wegman's didn't have, certain ingredients and prepackaged items in the international section and multiple varieties of grits (very uncommon in the north.)

I also love their awesome sales and clearance sections! Instead of letting things nearing the expiration date or excess produce go to waste, they generously discount it. Other companies just toss it which makes me sad. The "waste not" principal really speaks to their commitment to helping the...
