I wanted to redesign my wedding ring and give it a more updated look. I went to no less than 5 jewelers in Fernandina and Jacksonville. I just couldn't find anyone on the same page in terms of the design I had in mind. All the other jewelers wanted to upsell me to a larger diamond instead of using my original wedding stones which had obvious sentimental value. And if they weren't trying to upsell me into a larger diamond, they seemed uninterested in helping me design something fitting with the stones I already had. I was so frustrated that I just gave up. The very next day, I was in the shopping center where Crawford Jewelers is located patronizing another store. Even though I was incredibly disillusioned, I thought I would give one more jeweler a chance since I was right there anyway. I had very low expectations given the history with every other jeweler I had dealt with up to that point. But from the moment I opened the door, I knew this was the right place. The owner instantly welcomed me with a warm greeting and huge smile. I felt right at home. He listened to me and offered many different options and suggestions. He didn't try to upsell me to a larger diamond even once. He helped me design the ring to accommodate the stones I already had. He was helpful, knowledgable and creative. I had a terrible experience with Crawford Jewelers. I brought a Tiffany bracelet that I have had for at least 25 years to Crawford Jewelers for repair. I thought the clasp had come apart but was told that the connections between the gold bean shapes had loosened and all had to be replaced. It cost over 700 dollars to repair, but as I wear the bracelet all the time and because it holds great sentimental value to me, I decided it was worth the cost to have it repaired. The man waiting on me valued the bracelet at 3,000 dollars. I went to Cincinnati wearing my bracelet and had it on at the gate before boarding the plane home. When I got on the plane I realized the bracelet wasn't on my wrist. At this point we were getting ready to take off. I was so upset. I decided to report this to the jeweler. I was told that it may have been the clasp that broke. I said everything was replaced and now you are telling me that the clasp wasn't replaced after paying over 700 dollars to have it repaired. It was the owner that told me I couldn't prove that it wasn't the clasp that had broken and to report it to my homeowners insurance. He was completely unsympathetic about my loss and refused to acknowledge that the repair was poorly done. You would think the owner would have some compassion/ understanding about the loss of my bracelet. It was repaired May 2nd so I had it back less than 2 months. There's no excuse for that! I'm not one to usually write reviews but Crawford Jewelers definitely deserve this one. I just want to briefly talk about my recent experience with Crawfords. From the first time I stepped in their store I've had nothing but first class service. They helped me design the perfect ring for my now fiancée, to even giving me advice on how to propose. They were on time in making the ring, it was also less expensive than I assumed, and it was more beautiful than I ever thought it would be; she loves it! I'm extremely impressed with Crawfords, they will for sure have my business in the future. When she put the ring on it was a little big, because I wasn't sure of her finger size. So I called Crawford Jewelers and they said bring it in and we can resize it within a hour. So we did and they resized the ring very quickly, didn't even have time to go shop at store before they called us to pick it up. Well, a week later my fiancée decides she wants it just a little bit smaller. So we called Crawfords again and they said they were not going to stop until she is completely happy with the size. We dropped it off again, and like before they were very quick; had it resized within the hour. My fiancée is now very happy and can't stop staring at it!
