CLASS AND TOLERANCE OUT OF STOCK
I wanted to bring an incident that occurred in your shop on this day (February 4, 2022) @ 1215. I entered your store with the intention to purchase gifts for the family. As I was looking at the bags on display, I was on the phone to get an opinion. At that moment the store clerk (elderly woman with short curly blond hair) standing behind the counter raised her voice angrily and told me to turn off the phone because she doesn't need to hear my conversation. She was very annoyed about it as if she just awoke from a catnap behind the register. The conversation that I was having was in a foreign language and evidently she was bothered by it. Not only was she completely unprofessional but above all, it felt very RACIST! The store was completely empty and she didn't even take the time to welcome me as customer or offer her assistance but instead reprimand me for using my phone in her store. This is such poor representation of your boutique that has such vulgar customer service. Not only did you lose my business that day but I will pass this story along so that no one else faces this type of mistreatment and injustice in your store or at least they know what to expect from this sales person (who refused to provide me with her name). I hope that in good faith, you remedy this matter because it’s not good for business to mistreat your customers especially due to intolerance and prejudice! Your non response is proof enough of the kind of...
Read moreRude and unprofessional. Came in with my family and was immediately treated as if we were there to shoplift or cause trouble. The lady behind the counter (older, shirt curly hair) was super unfriendly. She came out from behind the counter, not to greet us as customers, but to stand with arms crossed and stare us down as we shopped. My oldest daughter is bi-racial and the lady clearly had her eyes on her the entire time we were there, which made us incredibly uncomfortable.
My 5 year old son came in the store with a lollipop. At one point he went around a free standing rack of purses, and when he did I attempted to tell him to come back to me. Before I could even tell him to come back, the lady lunged across the room at us seemingly to grab him. She did not say a word to us and went back to her spot in front of the counter to continue staring at us.
I gathered my family, put their items back and left. As we left, the lady and I exchanged a few words. Super weird vibe from the moment we entered the store and although we are out of town visitors, we come to Amelia pretty often and we will not shop...
Read moreMy lady friend, Kristine Ochu, who lives on Amelia Island, was wearing the most beautiful pair of crystal dragonfly earrings. She told me she bought them downtown at Debonair. Well, being the jewelry junkie I am, I had to go. I was warmly greeted by the store associate, Noreen, as I entered this super cute boutique. Debonair displayed so many high quality, unique pieces of jewelry, purses and accessories. After exploring every inch of the store, I rolled up my sleeves and was ready to make a very difficult decision -- what to buy?
After pondering, eliminating, and finally deciding with Noreen's help, I am the new owner of three fabulous pieces: a one of a kind necklace from the Czech Republic, a hand blown glass pair of earrings and an amazing pair of multi-colored sparkly crystal earrings. All three are amazing!!!
I love buying jewelry while on vacation because when I wear it, I remember where we were and the fun we had. Thank you Debonair and Noreen for helping me add to my collection....
