Watanut — Local services in Fernandina Beach

We had the pleasure of stopping by this happy little shop this past weekend and we are already planning our next return. I highly recommend the praline pecans; we consumed an entire can within 24 hours. They are the most delicious pecans I’ve ever tasted. But not only were the pralines divine, the cheese straw bites were outstanding; they took me back in time to my mother’s kitchen around Christmas time. Honestly, we had a total experience here. They also have great puzzles and pillows of Georgia, Florida and Amelia Island. The gift potential here is huge; we have already decided on getting several of our holiday gifts from this shop because we like to give the best gifts every year, and we won’t go wrong shopping at Watanut! We were so excited to come to this business. We got there at 8:35 pm The sign said that you closed at 10 there were two young girls working. on the 27 June, they were quite rude. My daughter asked if she could sample the mint chocolate chip and they just handed it to her no words and I asked if the three things on the counter samples and all I got was a yes, and that’s it. No other words . We ordered an ice cream sandwich that we thoroughly enjoyed the ice cream sandwhich .. it was delicious but unfortunately the service was terrible and as soon as we walked out, the girls locked the door behind us . Cute little shop selling prepackaged nuts and shortbread cookies, but we come here for the ice cream cookie sandwiches. They are massive and delicious! Definitely a hidden gem here in Fernandina Four stars because I personally prefer super creamy (and probably higher fat LOL) ice cream but the cookie sandwich feature keeps us coming back. The cookies are the perfect mix of chewy and crunchy with just the right amount of add ins! You get to choose your cookie and your ice cream. Others we got were double chocolate cookie with mint ice cream, chocolate chip cookie and cookie dough ice cream, and chocolate chip cookie with chocolate ice cream.
