I picked this place because it had such good reviews. However I left very disappointed. My daughter has some allergies so I asked what was in the ingredients and so on because I have to make sure she doesn't get sick. The guy was extremely rude. Rolling his eyes at every question like it was very inconvenient for him to answer. But I brushed that off and decided to stay. I also have to be honest and the pulled por sandwich I had was delicious. The sweet tea was not. And the pb&j I got for my daughter smelled and tasted funny so she couldn't even finish it. To top it off the faucets in the bathroom only have SCOLDING hot water coming out of them. And my daughter told me and i just said hey you should have used the cold one.. i went on there to wash my hands and my 1 year old hands and the cold one DOESN'T WORK in either bathroom.. and we both had soap on our hands. So I had to just wipe it off and use my own bottled water to clean ourselves. I told the lady working there about the water problem and she said " yeah they don't work, but I have sanitizer " which I also have and if I had known this before hand I wouldn't have bothered almost burnt me and my kids using their faucets. So, overall such a bad experience. Not kid friendly at all. And the service...

Food and atmosphere are great. Not 'fine dining' great, but lunchtime salad and sandwich great. Our table had shrimp salad on croissant - very fresh and delicious. Also, chicken salad on white bread (don't judge), delicious. And the BLT on toast - it should be called a Bacon sandwich with tomato and lettuce. It was overflowing with lots of yummy crisp bacon. The key lime pie is on a shortbread-like crust. It was tart and tangy - also yummy. The Pecan pie was just delightful. The filling was interesting, almost a caramel custard flavor topped with pecans, of course.

The atmosphere is a courtyard surrounded by buildings on 3 sides. Brick patio with bistro tables. Order at a counter inside, the bring your food put to you. People are always friendly and smiling. The restrooms were clean - always a tell-tale sign for me. In case you couldn't yell, I'd recommend it for lunch while shopping in downtown Fernandina Beach or just to...

Not our first visit to this fabulous, half-hidden lunch place in charming downtown Fernandina. We love how this place has a private courtyard away from the street.

Order lunch at the counter and grab your drinks and a table outdoors. They'll bring your food to your table.

Once again, we got some of their fabulous BBQ. It never disappoints. This visit, we ordered The Max, which is a pulled pork and pimento cheese on whole wheat bread, served with pickles and a bag of chips. We also ordered the Smoked Pulled Turkey, which is served on a soft roll with a side of pickles and a bag of chips. We also ordered a side of coleslaw and two Ice Teas for a filling and tasty lunch.

I've had my eye on their BLT and might try it one of these times, but their BBQ is so good. All come with a choice of Sweet or Spicy BBQ Sauce or Mustard BBQ Sauce. The whole menu looks great and we've enjoyed their house-made cookies on another visit.

Lunch only....

First time and I really enjoyed it. The food was delicious. We ordered the roast beef, ham, turkey, bacon, and cheese sandwich, and the pulled pork with pimento cheese. The max and the monster club were the names and they were very delicious. I highly recommend. For the sides we had pasta salad and potato salad. Both were delicious. The pasta salad was one of the best pasta salads I've had. The dressing was very tasty. For dessert, we split a giant cookie. It was clear that everything was made in house with fresh ingredients. The service was great. The atmosphere was phenomenal. Very quaint little garden tucked away from everything else. Really pleasant. Will definitely return.
