I went to Kay Jewelers because my engagement ring need to be sized. They told me that they could successfully size my engagement ring last December. Since then it has broke twice, most recently in June. My fiance had this ring made for me from another company and we went to Kay Jewelers because they had the most reasonable pricing on ring sizing. We SPECIFICALLY told them that the ring was not made by them and they said it was no problem. I got the ring back in mid December and in mid February its snapped at the weld line. They fixed the weld and after almost a month and half I got it back and started wearing it again. In June it snapped at the weld line again. I called them and at first they said that they would put a new bottom half of the ring on it, seeing as it had been just six months since they had first sized it and it has broken twice. But when i called back again to confirm that I was bringing it over, they tried to say that they were going to charge me 200 dollars to fix it. They also tried to say that they told us to begin with that it was too thin of a ring to size, but they did not. If they were not comfortable taking on the responsibility of sizing it they should have turned down my ring. This is THEIR mistake. They are claiming because its not their ring that they are not liable, but they are. As i have said before we were upfront with the from the beginning about it not being their ring. This is my grandma's diamond and my fiance's statement of love. This ring cost a lot of money, and a week after i got it back the last time, the metal has started to bend and break at the weld line again. They have ruined my ring, I can no longer wear it and cannot afford to fix it. I am absolutely disgusted with this company. I called their corporate office myself to try and get a resolution and all they did was offer me 50 dollars off the price of fixing it. This is not acceptable. I have lost tears and sleep over the stress of this and I am pregnant and do not need the extra stress on me or the baby. I will never, ever go to them every again, this is infuriating...
Read moreMy wife went into Kay Jewelers in Findlay, Ohio looking for a wedding band for her engagement ring. The lady said she would clean her ring while she was picking out her band. She brought the ring back to her and there were two diamonds missing that they couldn’t find! They said they would replace the diamonds and have them reset by their jeweler and it should be returned back to her by December 23rd. Well needless to say we get a call saying the jeweler is refusing to set the stones because “the ring will crumble!” The engagement ring was purchased through them. After 10 years, apparently, their rings will “crumble” if you need stones set or anything done to the ring. The manager tried to blame it on her sleeping, showering and just basically wearing the ring! I wouldn’t recommend this place if somebody paid me too! Needless to say, we will NEVER shop with Kay...
Read moreToday was maybe the 3rd or 4th time I have been in this store but let me tell you, they knocked it out of the park! Kiara and the other ladies were super helpful. I was in a bit of a pinch in regards to time on getting a ring purchased and delivered by a set date. Kiara assured me after calling their shop that I could buy the ring in store today and the shop would put a rush on resizing it and getting it back to me. Fingers crossed it gets here in time, but they seemed very confident that it would not be a problem.
UPDATE The ring came in earlier than expected and everything went perfectly! Thank...
