Harbor Freight — Local services in Fitchburg

Went in, looked around, grabbed the item I was looking for, went to the front end. Waited for 3-4 minutes for a man who didn't look like he necessarily worked there who was drinking a coffee, talking to someone who had finished their transaction. Did not address me. Did not acknowledge I was waiting. When another person came to the other register, he moved to that and signed on. Had to then wait behind this customer for another 4 minutes for a literal handful of easily ring up items, due to the cashier deciding the most important thing would be to continue a conversation that had nothing to do with work, opening his wallet and showing the customers something, then continues to blatantly ignore me when I walk right up in front of the counter he is at, put down my item to buy, and begin to wait another minute before he even addresses me. Clear discrimination at play, merely due to me looking younger because I fully shaved. I'm in my 30's. I go to a store to buy something without having to jump through hoops or cater to someone's desires, because I am the one paying to buy the item, whereas the cashier is being paid to do his job. There is no room for misjudgements, this lasted long enough that if I hadn't started appearing visibly agitated I don't think I would have gotten out of there before another 10 minutes had passed. Very disappointed, didn't think a business could be run so haphazardly. I'll be avoiding this location now at all costs, and I advise any others to follow suit, as this specific store is not customer focused at all. I would have rather done a self scan and had no human interaction than the garbage one I had to endure from the supposed cashier. 0/5 forget even giving this place a star you can order online...

Store #661 Fitchburg Massachusetts I was thrilled when they opened this location. Prior to this I would travel to Worcester Massachusetts to shop. I Love the Fitchburg Massachusetts store every time I shop there the staff is excellent friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Whether it is the Manager John or Cameron or Pablo and the other staff they go out of their way to assist me. I just hope that Corporate recognizes their dedication to outstanding Customer service and relationships to their Customers. There are not many businesses around any more that appreciate their Customers who are the life blood of their financial success. I went in to pick up the small chainsaw on sale from the flyer so I can help my mother with some trees in her yard. The manager recommended the more powerful one, but I wasn't sure, because I really didn't have a lot of other use for it. However, when I mentioned I was buying it just so I could help my mom with some trees in her yard, he grabbed the better one, told me to put the cheap one back, and brought me up front to match the price. I was floored. He said it was because it was for mom.
