I understand my military retirement pay is rather pathetic, but falsely believed my significant $$$ assets and a credit score of 827 would allow me a Visa (ZERO rewards) CC. Imagine my shock when told the CFCR 'underwriters' care nothing of assets or credit scores, it is all about 'monthly income'. I was then charged a $20 'account closure fee'.
