I really enjoy being a Guitar and Beginner Piano Instructor at Flagstaff School of Music, especially Group Guitar! The family atmosphere is conducive to simulate students into an extended family. The School is geared toward performance which builds confidence and poise in the student, experience that will pay off in any career down the road. The regular live casual performances during the Eastside Show at The White Dove Coffee Shop next door is a lot of fun for the student and family. You are in business for yourself but not by yourself. I have spent the first 62 years of my life without any musical background, training, or experience. This year I decided it was my time to learn to play the guitar. I have been very fortunate to find Terry and the Flagstaff School of Music to guide me on this journey. Learning any new skill can be intimidating and frustrating. The experience of venturing out to learn and explore with Terry as my teacher has been remarkable. Terry and the entire staff always make me feel welcome, safe, and comfortable. The talent that exudes from this music school is remarkable. Our family happily drives an hour to Flagstaff from Sedona so my daughters can take guitar lessons with Terry Allen and vocal lessons with Joe Dingman. They have learned so much since they started at the school in January, and they are both eager to see their instructors each week. I haven't yet had the pleasure of hearing Terry play, but my daughter said he is one of the best musicians she has ever heard.
