Gabe's — Local services in Flint Charter Township

The first time I shopped there I was truly excited and told a few friends. Went there a second time and would not return if everything was free. I worked retail management for over 20 years and I have NEVER saw a store so poorly taken care of. This reflects ona very poor management team. I tried to take into consideration that it's the Christmas time but that still isn't an excuse because you get extra payrollto hire additional staff during this time of year. There was no recovery being done. Only 6 ppl in line and 5 cadhiers? Put someone on the floor to assist the customers. I hate this store and hope it fails when Ross opens. Kind of like a TJ Maxx. Prices were fair I guess for the inflated times were living in. I'm afraid the really great prices are long gone. They have a decent selection of clothes but could improve and get more home decorations in my opinion. Most of the decor was a sort of theme related. I like when stores have a mis match of cool stuff, not just what's trendy or what everyone else has. Hopefully it improves. They had a small Holiday section, and they have small amount of Jewelry, scents, etc... They have a chance to be competitive here but they are going to have to kick it up if they want to compete with long time Flint township...

The store is big and heavily stocked with a variety of items from clothing to housewares. It's obvious that most of the items here are overstock or miss runs. I would expect the prices to be significantly less than what they are. The clothes are so smashed onto the racks that they're nearly impossible to shop. I found the same item in 4 different locations in the store. When we approached the checkout we were not acknowledged at all, the associate just started ringing things up without even looking up.
