Media Reload — Local services in Flint Charter Township

I recently visited Michigan from out of state and purchased a game for the Xbox 360 titled Wanted: Weapons of Fate. However, upon returning home and opening the case, I discovered that the disc inside was actually Batman: Arkham Asylum, which was not the game I intended to purchase.

This appears to have been an oversight during checkout or packaging. I contacted the store to request that the correct disc be shipped to me, given that I live out of state and returning in person isn’t feasible. Unfortunately, I was informed that nothing could be done because the disc wasn’t verified before I left the store. While I understand store policies may vary, I believe it’s reasonable to expect the product to be accurately matched to its packaging at the time of sale. This issue could have easily been resolved by shipping the correct disc—an effort that would take minimal time and cost—but I was disappointed to learn that the store was unwilling to accommodate this solution.

I’m reaching out in hopes that this situation can still be made right. I’d appreciate your help in resolving the matter.

Update: I was able to speak with the store manager, who resolved the issue by arranging to have the item shipped to me via FedEx. Great first visit to this new location. I wasn't shopping for anything specific, just wanted to check it out and I'll definitely be returning.

The store is extremely open, very well lit, all of the shelves and racks are well organized and visible, and there's actually room to move around the store. All of the product is alphabetized, categorized by system, and organized in a way that makes it easy to find exactly what you're looking for. The prices were actually a lot lower than I was expecting, so that was a nice surprise.

The staff immediately greeted me when I walked through the door. They all had smiles on their faces and were eager to help me if I needed anything. While I was browsing several people came in with trades, and it did take some time to process them as it does in any store that takes trades, but I heard the staff checking on everyone throughout the store while they were processing those trades.

The store itself is definitely nicer than Disc Replay and GameStop, and from what I heard the trade prices that the other customers were receiving were better than either of the aforementioned stores. I even heard the store manager ask a gentleman what he was expecting to get for his item, and she ended up offering him $40 more than the price that he had given...

Went here to sell my Nintendo switch, some games, and a controller. When I arrive to the store for the first time everything seemed to be going OK but there was a small fray in my power cable. They said even though it works they can’t take it. Tells me I just have to get a NEW cable and they can take it. Offered me $30 for Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Switch sports, and a GameCube style switch controller. Surprisingly GameStop gave me more money, but had a laughable trade in price for the switch. A day passes and I get a new switch power cord to take it back to Media Reload. I hand over my console and new cable, and one of the employees straight up scoffs at me and says “Uhhh… nah we can’t take this. Has to be NINTENDO branded, kinda rare to come across”. Yeah thanks for the information ahead of time, I literally asked you over the phone and didn’t get this response. Whatever, turns out Nintendo cords aren’t rare to find, this dude is just trying to lessen what he’s gotta do for his workday. Once I had a Nintendo cord they took everything and gave me $130.
