The Jolly Egret — Local services in Florence

The Jolly Egret, Periwinkles, P.S. Winkles..whichever of these three is now the candy store, I would like to address the owner regarding the man who is regularly working at the candy store.  We are repeat customers and frequent this store whenever we have guests. The unusual candy offerings are a special treat.  Our last and final visit was yesterday when I asked the man behind the counter why he wasn't wearing a mask.  He told me that it was something he didn't do and he "didn't care if someone came in and fined him." He ended his statement by saying that, "it was just the way he felt about it and it was political". To us, wearing a mask in our current health crisis situation, in a small enclosed place of business regardless of "politics", shows consideration and common decency for your customers no matter what their political beliefs may be. ...

I went here, really excited to buy some cards and stationery. I walked in with my teenage son and was immediately greeted with a rude comment that we weren't allowed in the shop with our cup of ice cream. That's all fine and good, it was just the way she approached us. I tried to explain that we were going to buy some things and we would pay for anything we might get our ice cream on, but she cut me off, so we left without getting to look at anything. We always watch for signs on the door that ask you to leave food or drinks outside. There wasn't one posted. I had a small coffee. I walked in and the lady with short curly hair screamed and told me to get The River Roasters coffee out of her store!! She scared the heck out of us!!! We left ...maybe don't hire crazy people.
