I'm a manager at a different Plato's Closet and I would like to explain how I was offered $8 at this location and then $25 at a different location for the same items. I happened to be in Lewisville today so I dropped some things off to sell to the flowermound location. First off, I had 6 brand new items in my bag including $40 jeans. They didn't take 2 items because "they are older styles" even though they are styles being sold in stores right now and I had only recently taken the tags off and worn them once. If you walk into charlotte russe today you will see the yellow pants they didnt accept. Second off, for the 4 other items alone they offered me only $8. That is 8 dollars for a 40 dollar pair of jeans, a long sleeve, a wallet, and a short sleeve. I know that the brand SO comes up lower in the system but if you see a $40 price tag you can just grade the jeans and they come up to a better price. I know they are going into the system when they enter items and lowering the price the customer gets. I literally work at a Plato's and the jeans alone would come up to at least 15 to 20 when graded and then I would get 5.25 to 8 back. Then for the 2 shirts I would get 2.90 to 4.90 depending on how they rate them. All in all I took the same items to my Plato's and they took the "older" 2 items and the rest that I was offered 8 for and I got 25 bucks. DONT SELL TO THIS LOCATION...
Read moreWhat a bad experience. I called and asked how it all worked. I was told to bring in as much as I want and I would leave it and I would get a text to come back. They said when I come back that they would tell me what they are going to buy and the rest I had an option of letting them donate it or I could take it home with me. ( This was all over the phone. ) When I got there to drop it all off, I went in and ask for help bring it in and they said not only will they not help it, it can not be on hangers. They missed that on the phone or I would had done that at home. Now I had to go out to the car and take about 60 shirts and 12 pants off hangers and put them in their buckets. When I came back they offer me $31. which I was happy about. Then came the real bad news. The offer that they had made on the phone that they said again when i drop off all the clothing was no longer true.. They offer to donate on the phone and when I came in but no longer is the offer good. Their donation bin is full. It was only 3 hours later, could they have not foreseen this and had said something I would have never cleaned out my closet. Furthermore, when I asked help bringing the three bags out to my car they said their help can not leave the store, they had a lot of help. It was the manager that said all the negative info. Some manager! We will never go back nor would we tell anyone about...
Read more   Read moreI only am giving this 1 star because I do tend to find nice items here, but as for the people who work here and the environment- I would give it 0 stars.. When I walk in I look up and smile, and the employees just look at you and don't even say "Welcome!" or greet you at all. I've been standing in an isle, and an employee is trying to get by me to hang some stuff up, and they wont say excuse me, just sort of push past me, and when I say "oh I'm sorry" I don't get any "it's okay" or anything.. Also, just today (and like every time I'm there) When I need a fitting room: I go to the counter Wait to catch someone's attention Have almost every employee look at me, but not actually acknowledge me Finally I have to say something to get someone's attention and they act like it's a burden to unlock a door for you........ Today in particular, I watched one employee treat another customer poorly, then mine acted like she hated her job. Didn't smile once, I asked her multiple times about my rewards points to not have her answer my question until the 3rd time I asked, and Left my bag on the counter all slouched over when I was ready to leave (unlike when they normally hold the handles and bag up for you to grab. Everyone there seems like young, entitled kids who don't respect customers. I work in the retail/customer service industry, and I would never treat...
