Went into the store to look at a red KitchenAid stove as we are remodeling a kitchen in a new house. This was a floor stock item that was price reduced, but it did have scratches on it. The young man was helpful, said they might take additional off at customer service. Also asked him if they would store it, he said they do this all the time for contractors. We would need it stored until August first, 6 weeks from now. He said they do all the time. He was helpful. Then we went to customer service. This is where the whole thing went down hill.
Would you take additional off due to the scratches? No. It’s already priced in the scratch and dent area (not what the rep in appliances told us, said it was a display model)
Can you store it until the first part of August? No. We can only store it for 30 days.
Ok. So if we have it delivered to our storage unit, is there a fee? No. Ok, so at least this was a “no” we expected.
So if we do purchase it today, can you extend the return time period from 30 days to 60 days? No. Really? I won’t even be able to put it in our new home until August 1st. Not their problem, but really???
Do you hear a theme with this store? “No”
I don’t feel like we were asking for anything unreasonable at all. Please store it for 45 days instead of 30. Please allow us an additional 30 days to return it. Nope, Nope, Nope.
I would wait two more weeks to buy it to avoid these requests, but it is a floor item that might be unavailable in 2-3 more weeks sadly. But that’s ok.
In the end, I will be purchasing the KitchenAid stove, and the matching $1500 vent hood (that I planned to wait until end of July to purchase....at Home Depot as well).
We also planned to purchase a package deal of appliances with Home Depot in July.
However....now I will be sending my business elsewhere to purchase our..... High End Stove High End Vent Hood High End Refrigerator Dishwasher Microwave Farm sink Faucets Pulls
And no telling what else, but I assume it would have been a $20k spend.
So....I’m writing this in the parking lot of Nebraska Furniture Mart. I’m sure they will be happy for this package deal business.
Again. Home Depot’s customer service fell off the mark on this one. Give us an additional 30 days...a few hundred dollars off. No? Well that’s ok. Just a simple “Yes” would have changed this situation entirely. Where is the customer service??
We’ve spent thousands of dollars at Home Deport over the years as a home owner, and also at my place of business. But No more. Lowe’s or NFM also will have our business for the rest of our days.
Being treated like an unreasonable request....not cool at all. Sorry Home Depot. We...
Read moreToday, my husband and I went to Home Depot to buy a grill and arrange for prompt delivery. While we were in the process of finalizing our order, we witnessed a concerning incident: an employee next to us was loudly yelling at a Spanish-speaking customer, exclaiming, “I AM GETTING A SPANISH SPEAKER,” and then abruptly walked away from him, leaving the confused customer behind. In a reckless move, she threw the long tubes the guy was going to buy, approximately 6 feet in length, behind her, narrowly missing another employee and creating a potential safety hazard.
As we finalized our order we decided to purchase a cover as well, but the delivery date suddenly changed to July 17th and the employee didn’t notice until we payed. After some delay and confusion, we agreed to buy the cover separately and proceed with the grill order. However, our initial employee was interrupted by another customer and left us abruptly, passing us to a new employee who greeted us by saying “since she talks a million words per minute can you explain what’s going on.” Who approaches a customer in such a manner?
The new employee canceled our initial order and re-entered it, stating it would be delivered on Monday, which later conflicted with what we were told by the first employee that helped. Frustrated by the unprofessional behavior we witnessed from multiple employees within a short time span, I requested to cancel the order. Despite being assured it was canceled, we received no confirmation email and the printed receipt didn't mention a refund. I asked to speak with a manager, Braydon, who, after hearing our concerns, responded with a nonchalant "ok," showing a lack of concern or resolution.
After a prolonged wait, we finally received a cancellation email, but the process took unnecessary time and lacked any apology or acknowledgment of the poor service and unprofessional behavior from three employees. Disappointed by the experience and the indifferent management, we decided to take our business elsewhere. I went straight to Ace Hardware, where I found better service: my grill will be delivered assembled (a service Home Depot doesn’t even offer) tomorrow at no extra cost. Due to this incident and the lack of professionalism and leadership at Home Depot, they have lost a customer who came in ready to spend over $1000 in...
Read moreBeen loyal to Home Depot for years and have used them for most of my home needs, to a tone of having never gone to a Lowes, but that won't ever happen again!!
Bought $4,000.00 in appliances and after a few weeks waiting to have them install the equipment their "outside installers" showed up at my house and told us that he could not install the dishwasher that showed up first because we had copper lines instead of the light duty compression line. He then walked out to his truck after being very rude and left without telling us he was leaving. At that point we started the process of "going threw the proper channels" as they requested when we called the very kind gentleman who helped us with the original point of sale.
We contacted the manager TIM and he said he was sorry and would get back to us and that the installers are outside contractors and that they did not have any way to do anything about it, but that he knew us and would do what he could to resolve this in a timely fashion. I find that ridiculous that a company like HOME DEPOT sends people to our house to install their equipment and they cannot do anything to help out a customer that spent 4,000 on their appliances. The manager TIM did not get back to us at all and we finally cancelled the entire order due to the lack of interest in taking care of their customers and also cut up my cards with them that has a $15000.00 limit. Due to the lack of interest in taking care of us and insulting us we will NEVER do business with Home Depot again. They were insulting and in my opinion failed miserably to take care of a very loyal EX customer.
WAY TO GO TIM!!
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WHO NEEDS AN APPLIANCE GO TO SEARS AS THEY GOT US TAKEN CARE OF WITH VERY COURTEOUS SERVICE IN A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME AND AN EXCEPTIONAL INSTALLATION...
