They are wonderful family owned business, that carries everything cotton prints all types of fabrics, linens,muslins,bathing suit fabric, lace, craft supplies, preprinted sewing projects, HUGH bridal section with every conceivable fabric and pattern, large button collection, curtain supplies. Only down fall is it is NOT wheel chair accessible many levels toilets on 2nd floor with lace. And it has back building that carries foam of all thicknesses and sizes, carpet bag material and a huge bin of scrap fabric pieces both large and small sold by wieght plus rolls of beautiful fabric to do reapolstering jobs summer or winter types of fabrics small or large projects. They have all the newest gadgets for crafting and sewing and I commonly meet people there that have driven 5-6 hours to visit school house fabrics in floyd va. Because we are blessed with something no one else has. And the staff know their stuff. Closed Sunday because they're a wonderful Christian family and will be a blessing to all who come here. Floyd also has many wonderful shops and resturants and BnBs so if you come a long way it so worth the trip, stay for the weekend n enjoy the friday night festivities on main street, music, dancing ,shops of local artisans. They have an excellent selection of all different types of fabric, with quite reasonable prices for the quality. (Don't expect as cheap as a big box store, but chains around here don't sell real wool, for example.) The novelty print section is organized by the themes of the fabric, which is really fun and useful. The upholstery and leather scraps in the back building are quite a deal, too. There are all sorts of rooms to discover in the basement with specialty fabrics.

I love this store! Huge selection, all kinds of notions, great prices. Rooms and rooms. Traditional quilting fabric, batiks, home decorator fabric, and my favorite as a crazy-quilter: the bridal room. Lace, satin, silk, organza, taffeta, velvet, lace appliques, absolutely everything.
