Adam's Meat Shop — Local services in Folsom

I like this shop quite a bit. They have a ton of really good stuff to choose from. Everything from a dozen different types of sausage to frozen dog food!

The shop is clean as a whistle and I generally feel like that’s a must when it comes to a butcher. Gotta be clean and keep everything fresh.

The shop is set up with massive freezers and refrigerators against the walls, with frozen options to grab for later. The veal caught my attention and I will try some soon.

In the middle, they have a good old fashioned fresh meat setup. Everything from a porterhouse steak, to marinated jerk chicken legs! I went with some skirt steak today cause it looked super fresh and was just calling my name. Literally about to grill it up right now!!

The dog food options are a huge plus! Clearly, if you listen to satellite radio or watch tv, or scroll socials, fresh raw dog food is the biggest trend at the moment. Rightfully so, if you want your dogs to be healthy. I’ll add dog food to the list and come down and grab some to let my babes try it out.

Had been aware of the location of Adam's Meat Shop since it's opening but had never tried the products offered. That is, until yesterday (9-21-19) when we stopped in to see if it offered a boned rib roast. Are we glad we did!

Born and raised at a time long before government decided how meat should be acquired and sold, it was then common to see whole sides of beef hanging in a true butcher shop. The result was well-aged, extremely tender and flavorful cuts of meat.

While Adam's may not be able have the same product delivered old-time butcher shops did, the roast we purchased there was every bit as good as those we bought 40-50 years ago from the traditional block butcher. And, the pricing for the product, while slightly higher than other markets in the area, proves the adage "you get what you are willing to pay for". While one experience alone is never sufficient to judge a business, we believe Adam's will offer the consistency of quality we expect and will be making it a regular stop for our meat and poultry needs in the future.

Have been here more than a few times. Whenever we are looking to make a great meal, or a specialty meat item, they always have it. They have handmade custom sausage that alone is worth stopping for. The prices are also very competitive with grocery stores, but is better quality. The staff is very knowledgeable as well, they understand exactly what I am trying to ask for in non-butcher terms either being how I would like something sliced, or a strange cut from a different country. I’m impressed each time I go in. When there is a lot of customers in the store, employees working in the back come up to help the front counter, you never have to wait long even when they are really busy. Can’t...
