A true hidden Gem in Folsom, unassuming building with blacked out windows but this is seriously some of the best food you will find in Northern California I have tried several items on the menu and have never had a less than amazing meal. So at the heart of this operation is the owner who is always present, he runs a very friendly yet disciplined and efficient staff. Top notch waiters, bar tenders and cooks. Great attention to detail and this all makes for a really enjoyable meal and experience. Being a professional musician and lead guitarist, I really dig the incredible autographed guitars on the walls. A couple tips and recommendations.... They often have "Pliney the Elder" on tap! if you ask for it, it's not on the menu or listed anywhere you have to ask. The burgers are an absolute must try! The crab cakes are another must try...decadent and scrumptious. But my favorite is to order the Asian Salad but instead of grilled chicken, have them substitute for Blacked Ahi Tuna!! Highly...

Great restaurant in the heart of Folsom. This is the kind of place that I would use as an example of how to run a restaurant correctly. The staff is professional, attentive, charming, and consistent. The atmosphere is just right, somewhere between a noisey bar and quiet gourmet restaurant, in a good way. The food is the real star here though, its at the quality level I would expect for the prices, and for the service. Everything seasoned perfectly, cooked just right, well plated without being ostentatious, and perfectly portioned. Nice small, but varied, menu also is a good sign of quality. Oh and great beer selection too, esp if you just want to sit at the very spacious bar. Overall I have nothing bad to say about Manderes, we even got a table for 3 when they were nearly packed without a reservation or much of a wait. We came here for the first time tonight. I was honestly fully prepared to be disappointed, not because of reviews, because they all seemed to be great, just simply because a lot of our usual favorite spots have been going downhill lately and we've been disappointed at some other spots we've been to. I'm giving it 3 stars, because the space overall is a bit on the cozy side, because of the space, or lack there of, the volume was quite loud. I couldn't even hold a conversation with my family of 3. At first the service was good to, but once our meals arrived, our waitress disappeared until after we'd finished our food. As far as the food goes, I got the steak and risotto and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. My husband enjoyed his meal enough, aswell. The price was very reasonable.
