Red Rooster Saloon — Restaurant in Forest Grove

Highly recommend coming to this incredible little local bar! My partner and I came to this spot for our date night (first time away from our babe). We did not know what to expect but we really didn't anticipate finding our new favorite little spot. We sat in the old bank vault with our whiskey drinks and ordered their smash burger. There was an added bonus that we had limited phone service in the vault area. At every table there were board games or a deck of cards - later on after talking with the extremely kind bartender about how we recommended getting the game Mastermind, she came back out maybe 5-10 minutes later with it. Mastermind is my favorite game and I was totally floored when she came back in with it!

There's a little bar tucked away in Seattle that this place reminds me of, but this place is far more updated and has far better food. The food FAR exceeds regular bar food and they have a plethora of gluten free options! By the way, their smash burger... oh my god...chef's kiss. We also got a free pudding shot and that was just a lovely cherry on top with our experience going to this place. They also have incredible local artwork on the walls. We experienced incredibly kind and interactive staff and fellow bar goers. Just come here. You will love this unique place!!

We stopped in to Red Rooster Saloon while on our way to the Grand Lodge. It's a cute place that just opened a few months ago. I was torn between trying the grilled cheese and tomato soup or the chicken pot pie (both favorites of mine). I ended up going with the chicken pot pie, but the owner brought out a tiny grilled cheese and a soup sample so I could try that too. They were delicious! The chicken pot pie came out and was even better! The crust was crunchy yet still soft and the perfect complement to the pie filling. It was the best meal I've eaten out in a while, and when in town I would definitely go back. Nice people, cold beer...

Red Rooster Saloon offers amazing salads. I ordered the Italian salad, which was large enough for two people and filled with a variety of fresh ingredients. The tender, flavorful turkey breast paired perfectly with the salami, while the mozzarella cheese, scallions, and basil added a delightful touch. The salad was topped with Parmesan and dressed with the house Italian dressing.

It was crisp, full of flavor, and well-balanced. I’ve also heard great things about the Shepherd’s pie, so I’ll be back soon to try that. Keep up...
