On Second Thought Consignment — Local services in Forest

I love both of these stores their clothing and furniture a few doors down. As someone who is 5'9 I like the diversity in their clothing since it tends to come in maybe from college people or people who have been more traveled. We have such limited shopping options here in Lynchburg. I tend to shop their clearance items which they have quite often and always spend a a good amount. This store it is on my regular shopping stops. I don't even shop at "regular" stores mostly just this store and TJ Maxx. It fills most of my clothing needs. I do know that they tend to be more selective about things they take in, as a consigner I have not had a lot of luck with them; things I consider nice or unique tend to get shot down- it's just too much trouble to tow your pressed nice clothes all the way over there for them only to take one or two pieces at most. But that's okay! as a shopper I will go there, always. I have since found another consignment store that seems to have good luck with my clothing items I bring in as a consigner. Well kept great store!! Girls aren't standoffish just busy from what I can see it would be nice to have a suggestion and interaction "Nice to see you again" "we have some beautiful purses that just came in or are you looking for something particular?" which I would add "yes size 10 long pants for...

UPDATE: After the owner heard of my situation, she promptly contacted me apologizing for what happened, and kindly worked with me to have my items returned. Excellent customer service changes everything and I am so thankful for how she handled the situation.

[Original post: So disappointed as a consigner. The pricing was not disclosed to me when I signed the contract. I assumed name brand/high end items would be sold for decent prices. I handed over $1000.00 worth of dresses and shoes and I'll be lucky to make $50 if they ALL sell. If I knew the pricing, I would have kept them and tried to sell them myself. This is my first ever consigning experience and I will never do it again. I can't even take my items back now knowing the pricing because I signed the contract. As far as being a shopper goes, it's probably a great place to buy. Advice: don't consign here if you need money, and ask how much your excellent quality/ high end items will be sold for because they will not tell...

I had some 20!items to put on consignment. The three girls that were there inspected all of them and we're making faces at each other. They said they were ALL out of style. I had seen one of the dresses on Kelly this morning on her tv show. I was given them back and I made a comment that I did not realize that they were not good enough for the store. When I picked them up to leave I accidentally step on one of them and turned around and saw the three whispering and laughing. I asked them if they were talking and laughing at me. One of the girls answered no very smartly. I in turn said GOD bless them. I will never enter this store again and will tell others...
