The premise of this review, is more about compassion, humility, and authenticity About 1 wk. ago, I entered the store (Michael's) frustratingly wiping the water that was leaking from my 👀 eyebulbs. 45 minutes prior I had an unexpected and horrendous experience at another store (that's for a different review 😅 Anyways, I had seriously lost my phone, but it turned out someone had stolen it! I just needed to borrow a phone in order to call my phone - I approached a lady heading to her car (mind you I'm on cane). This woman was the straw that broke this camel's back. I spoke articulate and respectful, while attempting to OVER explain myself, hence this small novel, and she proceeded to treat me like I wasn't worthy of being in her presence or whatever she conjured up in her head. She was beyond ugly to me and it was a somber reminder of a time where I called the streets home for over 2 years. LUCKILY for me, there was a lovely girl who's name is: JOY!! She helped me as much as she possibly could at the moment. Next thing I know another lovely woman appeared and proceeded to help me tear my glove compartment apart so I could find my phone (which was found just yesterday)! This review is exponentially longer than it should be, however, I wanted to give a shout out to JOY and the mystery woman who turned out to be Joy' momma ❤️ They restored my faith in humanity just enough that I chose to go home and show my hubby what I did to the car 😆 as opposed to, going postal and putting certain beings in the trunk and then joined the search crew ❤️ Thank you so very much!! I deal with tons of autoimmune issues and you both helped me to find some semblance of sanity and normalcy (whatever that is) From the depths of my being and the very essence that my soul is woven with THANK YOU 😊 I will come back over there soon. I'd like to respectfully put the owner or manager on notice that they have an angel working for them. It was very evident that JOY learned about compassion and integrity from her momma ❤️ a Biblical verse was on my heart during these chaotic moments that pain may be inevitable but JOY ALWAYS comes in the morning The Father is near the broken hearted and the heart that is spiritually struggling. We are called to relate, identify and be of service NOT COMPARE AND JUDGE. Much like everyone I have a story, and while that lady was being rude, I was trying to get home to hubby who has been struggling with cirrhosis for over 10 years, I myself, am dealing with things most cannot fathom. Lupus, narcolepsy with cataplexy, heart disease, had to have surgery like 20 years ago, falling everywhere I attempt to wander and now it would appear that there's a very good chance that MS will be joining the team that has been trying to evict me out of my own body (my body being the culprit. I am not seeking validation or anything, but my plate is getting pretty heavy and I know some folks have it worse!! Point I'm trying to make is that you NEVER know what someone is going through and you actually have to plan and execute being a butt-face, it's way easier to just BE KIND!!Words could never say or convey the gratitude I have for these 2 beautiful souls...
Read moreI have been shopping there for years, as I refuse to shop at their competitor across the street, due to their political views. It was even the only store I would go to in person during COVID. I will not be going back. I went last Saturday and was waiting in line to check out. I was asked to use the self checkout option, and declined, as I want to support retail workers. Frankly, I do not get out much and enjoy doing business with a real person. I was told that unless I had cash or a return, Self checkout was the ONLY option. Further, the person standing there(not checking) was intensely condescending and rude. She came over to the self checkout to "show me how to use it correctly." I eplained that I was well aware how to use it, just did not prefer it. She replied, that "sorry 'bout that, new store policy," shrugged and walked away. Please note, the one cashier on duty had NO ONE at their stand. Her condescension was followed by a very chipper "have a nice day" as I left, said in a tone that clearly meant anything but. I will not be using Michaels any longer. Retail stores wonder why folks are using online shops. This. I am dead against rudeness to anyone who makes a living in retail. I have been there. However, I do not think an expectation of reciprocated civility and manners is too high of a bar to meet. Also, we now, apparently get to pay high prices AND do all the checking ourselves. I guess consumers will next be expected to stock shelves and price goods prior to shopping?...
Read moreZero Stars for this store!! Our daughter took a very nice print to the framing department in this Michaels store. They not only scratched and ruined the print, they didn't tell her until she went to pick it up. When she noticed it, she was in tears. They had already charged her for the framing and said they couldn't do anything . The Manager came over and said that she would submit a claim to corporate and that she would be contacted. That was well over a month ago and no one has contacted her. She has called the store multiple times. We spoke to Casey, another manager a few weeks ago and she said she would get back to us with an update. Still no update and when we called today, we were put on hold for over 30 mins without any answers to our questions. We do not recommend this store and would not use them for framing anything. We are very disappointed and have had no help whatsoever to help us with this situation. They ruined a very nice print and then charged our daughter over $250 to frame it. We would like to be reimbursed for the print as well as the framing. Terrible customer service!!!!!!! Will never use this store again and will keep working to get this situation rectified as they clearly did the damage and aren't working to help us at all. We were not given a claims dept number but we will find a way to reach corporate as this is absolutely...
