We got seated right away and the staff was very courteous to us, and that's the about the only good thing I have to say about our visit. The sever took a long time to get to us and take our drink order, but also forgot one of our party's drink completely. Then it was more than 10 mins between taking the drink order to coming back to take our order. We all got fairly common things you can find at most Mexican restaurants (a combination plate for myself, flautas for my wife, our kids got a nacho plate and the youngest got a grilled cheese sandwich). My entree was a bit cold despite the plate being extremely hot 🤔. My wife's flautas were dry and bland. The rice and beans they served were both bland and needed something else to be enjoyable. Our daughter's grilled cheese (not what you order at a Mexican restaurant, I know but she's 3) was cold and looked as though it was barely on the flattop before being rushed to the pass. The only plate that seemed to be prepared well was the nacho plate our son had. We did have my nephew with us (almost 2 yrs old) he just ate off our plates. The server did check on us but out of fear of never getting what we needed we didn't ask for anything else.
After the whole meal was over and we received the check we were completely caught off guard and dumb-founded by the amount that we owed. $50 for the most common of meals for 4 entrees and 5 drinks. I'd expect that at a place like the Rio where the quality of the food and the service is a lot higher.
We went here because I have been wanting to try them again since they moved locations to their new spot. I was expecting the same level of service (it was NOT busy at all) and the same quality of food, and we were very disappointed by the whole experience
We will not be going back. There are far better places to go here in town and can get better food and service at one of the many Mexican restaurants...
Read moreI have eaten at this restaurant since I was a kid many times but today marks the last time I will waste my money coming here. They weren't really busy at all and still had to ask for water three times which to me is not taking care of you tables in my opinion which my family has been in since I was a child. On top of the deplorable service my wife who has a sensitive stomach had asked about the quesabirria tacos (which at Evolution Flavors taco truck in Greeley behind west side liquor are amazing) and asked what they put in theirs and the response was "beef and pork" so she was excited to try the ones there. When she received her expensive meal they were all pork no beef as well as mostly pork fat chuns. Also they are supposed to have cheese as well and there was no cheese at all. Their Consommé was actually pretty good not going to say a bad thing about that. But because my wife's stomach couldn't handle all of the pork fat with no cheese we asked for a to go box so I could take it home for later since I wasn't going to waste the money I spent we asked for a container for the Consommé the best part of her meal and the server had to be asked 3 times before we got the container for it. I got the seafood enchiladas that were just tortillas with shrimp and scallops the cream sauce was not in it as well as the green tomatillo sauce had no flavor what so ever. I can't believe I got such horrible food as well as service at this restaurant. I highly recommend going to the Rio instead at least their food is good and their service I've never had a problem with if you'restuck in Fort Collins. I get better service at the Tres...
Read moreMy Aunt and I went in for lunch yesterday. I purposefully went in with the car still running and told my aunt to stay in the car because I wanted to make sure they served the Tortilla soup I love so much at the Loveland Location. I went in and looked at a menu.. there was a photograph of the soup and it looked identical to the Loveland soup. So, I got my aunt and we went inside. When we ordered, we ordered the whole size, I usually get the half size in Loveland, it's more then enough but wanted to bring leftovers home. It's that good.. Well, when our soup arrived it was nothing at all like the soup in the picture. It was maybe a Cup and Half of cloudy orange liquid with approx a table spoon of tiny chicken chunks and unmelted cheese. It tasted super salty and a bit fishy. IT was also the $9 WHOLE order.. It was awful. When I asked an employee about it, he said, Oh our tortilla soup isn't like the Loveland location.. I asked why the photograph was in the Fort Collins Menu then? He had no answer, just kept saying it was different. This is a perfect case of false advertising. On top of that, the serving size was ridiculously small for the price. The Loveland location is not only a better tasting and fresher option, it has much more acceptable servings. On a second note, There were no seats on the toilets in the women's bathroom. That one surely stumped us. Be very cautious when ordering food here. The pictures are FAR from what you will receive...
