I had the pleasure of working with Erika recently and I couldn’t be more pleased. Firstly, I had no expectations upon entering. I’m moving into a new place and had only it ended to browse. Fairly quickly I was informed about how Ethan Allen is so extraordinarily customizable. That immediately drew my attention as I saw many pieces that I loved but wished it had different fabric or details. The customization is no joke. So many choices. And she balanced offering ideas with also embracing my quirky personality and style. Never did I feel she was trying to steer me one way or another, but laying out choices so I could steer myself. That said, there was one instance where I was asking a question I knew was loaded, and she gave me that delicate look of “oh no honey, please don’t”, while also being supportive and polite. I got the point. And she was absolutely right!! I admire that she had the courage to be frank with me while also being respectful! From that point on we were in sync. Now, I do realize this is her job but I never felt selling was more important than making me happy was. And a good designer can balance both. Her colleagues jumped in on the rare occasion we needed a third view or a technical question answered. Floyd even shouted “red boot leather” when we were discussing a beautiful leather chair that just needed something to pop! Floyd was dead on point. And Erika didn’t have any ego issues in accepting the input. Which again made me very comfortable and valued. She gave me space when I needed it. She showed me things I hadn’t considered. It was an amazing collaboration. I took almost an entire day of her time and she never once made me feel rushed or pressured. She had no idea initially that I’d end up walking out with pieces for every room from which to design the rest of my place around. I cannot speak highly enough of this location and this team of designers. They know their product, they know how to treat people and the product it solid quality. I am so frigging excited to move into my new home and live with these amazing pieces for decades. Thank you Erika, Floyd and the others who helped us nail...
Read moreWe went to nine furniture stores looking for furnishings. Although last, fortunately, we stopped into Ethan Allen.
From the moment we stepped in the experience was pleasant. A gentleman behind the front desk, who was extremely kind, greeted us in a welcoming way but not in a sales agents manner. It was just very genuine, and he was not a salesperson.
Most stores had a salesperson standing at the entry, ready to pounce. We had to plan a statement that we knew what we were looking for and we would let them know if we needed help.
Not at Ethan Allen. We were allowed to browse and at some point; we had a question for someone. Marc Pepper was that someone. He is a designer and then a salesperson. He was great from every aspect and a consummate professional.
I was extremely impressed with his ability to show us through volumes of fabric books and help us choose textiles to complement the furnishings. He was patient and provided ample time for us with several quotes.
We returned the following day but Marc was off. I felt so strongly about Marc’s service I wanted to make sure if I placed an order he would still get “credit” for the sale. Once again, the same kind gentlemen at the front desk told me that would not be a problem.
We had that same great feeling with another gentleman. He found our quotes and helped us with fabric books, since one of the fabrics we were considering was discontinued. It was a seamless experience like he had already been working with us.
In the end, we ended up returning a third time to finish the order with Marc. He guided us through timelines, various details and patiently walked us through the final selections. The one thing that was always static was the feeling we were working with a professional group of experienced people.
So to Marc and the entire staff at Ethan Allen,...
Read moreSometime in November 2018, I purchased several furniture pieces at the Ethan Allen store in Fort Lauderdale, FL. One of the pieces, a leather chair did not have the inner padding/filing evenly distributed and also the finishing on one of the chair legs was wider than the other. Upon immediately receiving the chair I reported the issues to the sales person at the Fort Lauderdale store, Tad Donovan, who is now the store manager. I also reported the chair issues to Ethan District distribution center in Fort Lauderdale. Ethan Allen sent to my house a male named Rafael, a furniture expert, who showed up at my house with a flimsy ruler and told me right away that there was nothing wrong with the chair. The furniture expert Rafael was a joke. I though Ethan Allen took their customers serious but Rafael p roved wrong. Tad Donovan, following the visit of the alleged furniture expert Rafael, ignored my issue with the chair, got mad at me because I put a stop payment on my credit card in an attempt to resolve the issue. Tad Donovan acted very rude towards me, he simply did not care that Ethan Allen delivered to me a defective piece of furniture, obviously he only cared about the money/commission he made. To this day, the issue with the chair has not been resolved. Customers should not waste their money and time buying anything from Ethan Allen in Fort Lauderdale. Moreover, dealing with Tad Donovan who will treat you nice deceitfully and when a problem arises with a defective piece of furniture he will simply turn his back on you and ignore you. Also, I wondered if not having a Hispanic full name with have made a different in the way Tad Donovan and Ethan Allen has...
