My family has been going to The Original Pancake House for 20 years. This morning we went for breakfast and ordered the eggs, bacon and pancakes. Plus, a fresh-squeezed orange juice. The OJ, as it always is, was delicious. But my wife's pancakes arrived and were not cooked. The outsides were brown but the entire inside was still batter. The hash browns were too greasy to eat and the over-easy eggs were translucent, runny, and not cooked either. We asked the waitress to redo the order. My meal was fine but it was awkward because my food was there but we had to wait another 10-15 minutes for my wife's new food to arrive. I think that they should have apologized and taken that part of the order off the bill. Anyway, when we asked for the bill to pay, the waitress asked my wife to walk over to the cash register to pay so that she didn't have to go and get a handheld device to run the credit card. It was just not a good gesture after already having had our breakfast ruined. And I would have to say that the worst part of the entire experience was the bill itself. For 2 breakfasts, an O.J., a side of blueberries for the pancakes, and 2 coffees, the bill was $44 without the tip. Just adding blueberries to the pancakes cost $3 and they've now taken to charging additionally for the hash browns. Something like $1.50. They raised their prices and are nickel and diming diners for things that used to be included in the breakfasts. Instead of a good value and go-to breakfast spot, The Original Pancake House is now an expensive and inconsistent dining establishment. We are going to look around for alternative restaurants for...
Read moreI ordered take out from here, they said that the food would be ready in 30 mins. I got to the restaurant only to wait another 30 mins for my food. I order take out from many places all the time, when I got there I gave the guy doing the take out orders my name and everything I ordered, to which he said ok I have your order right here they are working on it. I waited patiently as other to go order came picked up food and left easy transaction in and out. After my order was read me and the guy verified the order again and and told me to have a great day. But then he follows me outside and proceeded to ask me again what I ordered which is now the 3rd time we have gone through this exchange he says ok. As I'm getting in my vehicle he asks me to give him my bag of food he just gave me and to show him some identification to which this caught me by complete surprise especially since I have just watched so many people pick up their orders without any issues. I have never been asked to show I'd to pick up food especially when giving the name. This guy proceeded to harass me about food I just paid over $50 for. My treatment here was unfair and belittling and was done in front of other customers picking up food. The harrassment I received here was unwarranted and unfair. Not to mention the food was horrible the steak was overcooked the spinach was greasy and the French toast was burnt to the bottom. So basically I paid over $50 to for bad food and to be harrassed and belittled by the staff. Never...
Read moreI have been coming to this location for years and have always enjoyed it. Prior to moving to the area my family and I visitrd other locations often so for many years this has been a favorite. So it is was great sadness I write this review. I ordered take out today strawberry pancakes with a side is sausage. First of all my order was $19.99. The orice increase is guaging. Since I have been a very long time customer I decided to place the order and support this restaurant. Remember I said I ordered strawberry pancakes??? I get to my office to eat and no strawberries. No strawberry syrup. No strawberries, no whip cream. Just butter plain syrup and plain pancakes. I decuded to call the restaurant. First person I spoke to was Mel and she was nice but handed me off to a man who was very rude. He answered the phone with YES? I said yes and stays silent. I said hello he says what do you want. I said didn't the woman I spoke to you explain he says yes AND???. So I tell him what happened and he says that is not our fault the delivery driver forgot to pack the strawberries. No, I picked up my order. He says okay so we made a mistake what do you want? Well you should refund me the difference I paid for berries vs plain pancakes. He says No not our problem it was a mistake so I have nothing to tell you. This man's name is Mr. Papi Sabile. I emailed Portland looks like from another reveiw they do not respond. I...
