Funk&Flow — Local services in Fort Lauderdale

I do not doubt that the other reviews that are displayed before me are true but unfortunately I did not have a great experience like the others. So much has transpired with dealing with Jessi the owner of this location. I don’t even know where to start. We were told a week before our event that she was having ac issues and that she would have it rectified prior to our event. The event in question was my best friends baby shower. Myself and four other vendors were scheduled to be in attendance for setup at 11:30 am. Upon reaching to the location, we were unable to get in. Given the fact that in the past we had scheduled meet ups with her before that she seemed to always be late to. She would instruct us to use her spare key to enter upon arrival. Due to this fact, and the time, we did just that. Myself and the other vendors waited patiently for her to give us the cue to enter the studio to set up while she had giggles with her clients. We only had two hours to setup, so we were pressed for time. I intercepted when I could to ask about the state of the facility being empty or not. She tells me to calm down and that we could of went in from the beginning. When we got into the studio it was a bit warm. I thought maybe she had turned the ac off but to my surprise the ac guy was strolling in right behind me. I was in shock! We were told this would of been done way before we got here. Due to this fact, it held up the majority of the vendors from setting up because they had to wait on the ac units to be installed. While we waited, she made a lot of slick remarks and comments as jokes about what we could or could not do in her facility. She even went on to say that it would be our fault if the ac doesn’t work properly if we didn’t leave the door closed. No,Jessi it’s your fault!You stated we would not have an issue with ac on the day of and that you would have had it rectified beforehand and you failed. Due to this it pushed back setup time and the guest had to wait an extra 40 mins before being let in. To add insult to injury, that ac job you claimed you payed $700 for was a waste because our guest were complaining all evening about the heat and practically melting in your facility. Here’s one more thing for favorable mention! The fact that you thought it was ok to go under my pregnant best friends post and right sweet stuff on peer space but disrespect her via text message afterwards because she wrote a review that wasn’t to your liking,is the most disgusting of it all. Why hide? Show your true colors for all the world to see. Every time I want to write a review about Funk and Flow I’m afraid my words won’t do it justice. But people deserve to know about this place! I’ve been going for the last 5 months and it’s truly changed my life. For starters, Jessi, the owner & teacher, is a positive ball of energy that you just want to be around. The place itself has such a welcoming/chill atmosphere to it. I’m not a dancer, but have never felt like that was an issue here. You are encouraged to move freely! It’s nothing like I’ve ever experienced and if you even have an inkling about trying it out, I hope this helps you to just do it. Everything about Funk and Flow is amazing from the space, the staff, the atmosphere, the music and the overall vibe. Jessi and Tika are really amazing at their craft and you can clearly tell they love what they do because they energize everyone with their passion. I was really surprised when I found they offer everything from yoga to choreographed hip hop & R&B to freestyle dancing. I've been to each class and it has been a blast every time.
