The people seem very nice, but my rating of it 2 is only in reference to their pricing of silver. The price of silver when I entered the shop was $29 spot and they tried to charge me a nine dollar premium on silver rounds which I think is quite high and not in accordance with the market rate. I personally will be shopping somewhere else for a fair deal on silver.
Update - I have lowered my rating to a 1 star and it would be zero! If I could.
After writing my above review the owner of the shop wrote this:
âThe Silver Mine Pawn Shop (Owner) ⢠4 hours ago Thank you for taking the time to post a review, I would like to give you some facts that you seem to be either unaware of or just stupid. The day you came in to inquire about the silver rounds spot was at $29.63. SD Bullion, APMEX, and JM Bullion had generic rounds selling for quantity from 1 to 19 paying by check or money order at $35.17 each. Then you have to pay for shipping. When you buy local, you do not pay for shipping, and you get to pick from the selection on hand. So when you state information about market rate, get the facts correct. I will be glad to sell you at spot then charge you a handling fee, local premium fee and a fee to deal with folks like you who need to spend money on soap before you go out in public. That fee will be ten dollars added to each silver round for every minute we have to be within smelling distance of you. I have no problem if you don't come back, I have no problem if you do, l also appreciate the kind words about my staff, but what I don't appreciate is you either stupidity or just lack of the facts. I only wish people knew about our capitalistic nation; you don't have to buy from us if we cannot agree on a far transaction, but to post a review because you feel that our prices are too high is ridiculous. You must be a democrat and identify as a woman or a tree. I tell you what, you go to work and ask for a pay cut, because whatever they are paying you for whatever you do is too much.â
âââ- No need to defend against such foolish and offensive speech but I will say I got a better deal on silver at another shop that was fair and closer...
Read moreA Pawn Shop is a PAWN SHOP !! Just read the reviews and people never fail to amaze me with their ignorance. A Pawn Shop does not exist to give a customer a price they deem reasonable. If the Owner/Employees don't see value in what you've brought in, regardless what you paid for it, that is their choice. Wake Up Zombies !! The terms are also clearly stated.. do you want a loan or not. Example: I bring in a 14k Gold bracelet which weighs 17 grams. Melt price on this gold would currently be $414. This is not the amount they would offer, nor the $1100 retail...blah blah blah. It's simple as I desire a loan, say $200. They charge 25% interest. So, I have a month to bring them $250 and get my bracelet back. If I didn't have the $250 after 30 days, I could pay $50 interest and get another 30 days. If you don't come back at all..YOU LOSE !! People are so stupid as terms are laid out for a loan & places like Title max are not stealing your cars. Also, if you are selling and don't like the price, well, then don't sell it. It is not the Pawn Shops job to pay you "Top Dollar". This crew of people have always conducted themselves professionally when I've been there, but then again, I'm not coming in with unrealistic expectations. If they don't want your bike or microphone or etc....well...that means they see no...

Walking into this place feels like stepping into an episode of âPawn Starsâ â if it were filmed in a rundown shed and hosted by two people who hate everyone. The husband and wife running this circus have the combined charm of a parking ticket. They act like theyâve got PhDs in everything, but the only thing theyâve mastered is talking down to customers.
Ask a question, and theyâll roll their eyes like you just asked them to solve quantum physics. Try to sell something, and theyâll offer you pocket change while bragging about how they âknow the market.â The husband puffs his chest like heâs some big-shot collector, and the wife lurks nearby tossing in snarky comments like sheâs auditioning for âMost Annoying Human 2025.â
And heaven forbid you say something they donât politically agree with â if they even think you lean liberal, suddenly youâre public enemy number one. Theyâll make snide remarks, talk over you, and act like youâre the problem. Itâs honestly disgusting that a business open to the public thinks being judgmental is part of the brand.
Their prices are a joke, their attitudes are worse, and their store looks like a yard sale that gave up halfway through. The only thing valuable here is the time youâll save by never stepping...
