Taqueria Mi Gente — Restaurant in Florida

Updated review: after about 4 months in this area. Taqueria mi gente has become one of our regular restaurants in the local area. Definitely above other Mexican restaurants in terms of quantity, quality, cleanliness and professionalism. The employees are friendly and very helpful. The restaurant has adequate space to eat in but due to its popularity it can be packed. The tacos are very well made with more than enough meat, seasoning and overall flavour. While the tacos are a great choice, my go to is the torta de carnitas. For $8 the torta of carnitas is godlike perfect. The amount of meat is more than enough for you to taste it through all bites, the bread is crispy and never soggy, the avocados and queso fresco are fresh and it mixes very well in your mouth. In addition to great food choices this restaurant has a salsa bar. The salsa bar has multiple choices of salsas and are always fresh, very tasteful, free and unlimited. In addition, there is unlimited cilantro and onion in the salsa bar which you won't find anywhere. Overall this place is definitely a must go. I had mexican cousine in many states and foreign countries and my wife is mexican so I consider myself a mexican food aficionado and this place exceeds my expectations. If you read all of this, stop looking elsewhere and eat here. You won't regret it.

5 stars for the birria tacos, and tacos al pastor. And 1 star to the customer service. It was our second time here, Jesus was super kind and explained everything, we ordered horchata and Jesus explained he didn’t gave enough to fill one cup so he offered us what was left, but he was able to fill the cup so we offered to pay for the full cup, and WE did pay and everything was smooth. So I guess one of the employees named Katerine overheard that he was going to give us “left over” horchata… but she didn’t know we payed for our drink … and she was disrespectful to Jesus and US … she thought Jesus was giving away drinks she said “really, Jesus? Charge them!” She knew we spoke spanish too, she was disrespectful made us feel unwelcomed Jesus kept telling her to please be quiet and dont make a scene, and a lot of employees trying to calm her down… She kept saying to jesus “callate” and talking bad about us the whole time we ate there, she did our tacos but she was arguing while doing that…it made me and my wife feel so bad during our time there, everyone kept staring at us, and talking about us, it was embarrassing and i feel bad for Jesus, he gave us excellent...

I’ve loved this place since I moved here a couple of years ago. But went to this place today and ordered a California burrito (same thing my boyfriend ordered) and they made him a California burrito and myself a bean burrito. I went up to the register to let them know that wasn’t what I ordered and they took it to the back to show the other workers and proceeded to say it was a california burrito even though it was the complete opposite of what my boyfriend had ordered & gotten and his was actually a California burrito. They refused to make the correct thing I ordered and so I wasted $38 there all to never have it fixed for me. I’m really disappointed because I was even nice and tipped them at the register prior to this and had horrible service afterwards. I’ve never been to a place that wasn’t willing to fix something they messed up after I had already paid so there’s no getting that money back. It’s insane and we will not...
