WARNING: THERE ARE PARROTS AND PARROTS ARE LOUD!! IF YOU ARE SENSITIVE TO LOUD NOISES BE PREPARED! I came into the shop because the outside itself looked inviting and friendly lgbtq+ friendly all over the doors and lots of stickers and a variety of booths? That have an inclusive vibe. There are LOADS of goodies some prices are high but a lot of it is handmade and the vendors set their prices (I’m assuming). There is a plethora of polished and raw crystals, skeletons/bones, wet specimen, LOTS OF JEWELRY hand made and production, furs, masks, creepy little baby dolls, tarot card readings, beautiful taxidermy, lots of Wiccan related and other readings, carved and polished figures, rune stones, so many other things there is definitely something for everyone. Even Star Trek, Star Wars,Batman, and transformers which my s/o adores, all boxed and priced well! Customer service was AMAZING! The man who ended up checking us out was welcoming and talked with my very adhd riddled partner before and during checkout. There was also a few reptiles, a hamster, two parrots as mentioned at the beginning and tree frogs! There may be more but those are the ones i spotted. EXTREMELY POLITE AND FRIENDLY SHOP! I have been to Fae’s several times. Usually spend an hour or more looking at all the lovely things and and always purchase a few special items. Was so excited to share this shopping experience today with my sister who is visiting from out of state. While shopping I was hit with a sudden bathroom emergency and requested to use the bathroom. The man at the register told me they didn’t have a bathroom. I asked where he used a bathroom and he said..”well there is a bathroom here but customers can’t use it”. In disbelief, I said….”so I can spend time in your shop, spend money in your shop but I can’t use the bathroom in an emergency.” Yep…he coldly replied and directed me to a fast food restaurant across the street where I would find a bathroom. I knew I’d never make it and started pleading. His cold, indifferent responses to my suffering brought tears to my eyes. So heads up folks… A compassionate response from the guy (owner?) would have resulted in a glowing review from me but as it stands now…for as much as I love supporting local artists and businesses …I will never set foot in...

they have a nice variety of stuff i guess. when i visited earlier in december looking for a christmas gift, i bought a beetle with no price tag that ended up being like $20. i legit could have bought the same beetle from a bulk seller, and a jar like the one it was in for less than $10.

i was just like whatever. its fine. i wrapped it up and that was it.

come today (12/25), there were holes in the underside and the elytra, and there were small larvae in the jar with it. the jar remained closed the entire time i had it, and for the majority of that time it was wrapped up tightly and nothing could have gotten into it. i order bulk specimens all the time, and not ONCE have there been hitchhikers in them, so someone down the line didn't sanitize the beetle/their workspace.
