My family and I were able to get a Portrait done with Park Hill Art Portraits. I cannot speak to the quality of our individual portrait as it has not arrived yet. They take time, obviously, and we just did out shoot yesterday. The process leading up to our appointment was fantastic. Every single phone call I had was pleasant and professional. It made me excited to come for the experience. I have never had so many check in calls. From the initial appointment setup, to a follow up several days out. All questions were answered and the team made me feel very confident in the process. Even the day of, the concierge called us to verify everything was good and we were still on time, and to ask if we needed any help. (My wife was impressed) We got there, and they are a changing room for us to get out of casual clothes into the dressier stuff. Two guys, two girls, we took turns. I do with there were a couple more hooks to hang clothes on in the room, but thats such a minor thing. Once we were ready, we went back in to the studio portion to meet with Destiny who shot the photos. She explained what she was looking for, and asked if there was anything we were wanting to see/do. I explained that rather than big smile and soft smile, I wanted to do some serious takes of our family. Not all smiles. And also dont pose us like a prom or cruise ship picture. That we are not exactly a touchy feely cuddly family, so when posing, we dont want to pose like something we are not. She loved the honest feedback, and attempted to style each pose that way. We did big smiles and serious takes of each pose. After that process, we had about 20 minutes while they transferred the pics over to Art Director who was Yvonne. We were able to change back in to casual attire and take our stuff to the car, and by they time we did that, our gallery was ready! And how they do it, is impressive. Rather than stair at a screen 30" away, you sit on a couch with a wall about 20' away. And they project all the image sets one at a time so you can take them in. That was cool, because you can see what they would like like on a wall. Then the hard part comes, of narrowing it down between two pics. Putting two side by side. Usually they were the same pose, just different facial expressions. Like going to the eye doctor: "This one or this one?" And you pick A or B. And through that process you narrow it down, which made it super helpful. All the while these are projected on the wall, so you aren't staring at a computer monitor. Yvonne was patient enough to even back track and bring back discarded photos to compare against. But it is tough to narrow down. The team does such a great job capturing the moments. We finally did and now wait for our portrait to be sent. Yvonne also did a great job explaining the process, the finishes, and even framing. Also showing the sizes and explaining what the sizes would be used for and where/how. Overall, this was a very unique and great experience. I would recommend it to couples, families, or even solo. It is more expensive than having a photographer produce prints, but you are getting a painted canvas, and in the end, you get what you pay for. But the team was wonderful. The experience was...
Read moreI found this fine art portrait studio through an Instagram ad offering a complimentary session and a 14-inch portrait for cat parents. After applying, I was “selected” and had to pay a $200 deposit, refundable upon arrival. The photographer captured great shots of my cat, and I was impressed with how quick and efficient the process was. I’ve never done a portrait session before so she was able to suggest good posing and staging ideas. Afterwards, I waited about 40 minutes while they edited, then was led to a dimly lit room for an intense sales pitch.
After small talk that lasted about 15 minutes, they went into business. They projected my photos on the far wall to make the complimentary portrait look absurdly small, subtly steering me toward a pricier option. When I commented on the “masterpiece” finish, they conveniently mentioned it was only available on 32-inch portraits or larger—far beyond what I wanted. However, they later claimed they could make an exception to apply it to a smaller size, making it seem like a special deal. The price list was shocking—portraits started at thousands of dollars and ranged all the way to $25k for their largest size. I initially planned to take the free portrait and pay for a frame, but after relentless upselling, I panicked and agreed to an extra 24-inch portrait for $3,375.
Regret hit immediately. The next morning, I emailed and called to adjust my order, but they ignored my messages. When I visited in person, the receptionist assured me changes were possible because of how recently my order was placed, but their finance rep later insisted they weren’t. After pleading, I was allowed to downsize the extra portrait, remove the masterpiece finish, take off the frames, and revoke a free portrait renewal (supposedly worth $6k) session, reducing my cost by $2,110—but they refused to cancel the extra portrait entirely.
After making my payments, my portraits arrived, and while they looked nice, nothing justified the $1,700 I ultimately spent. They also delayed sending the digital files I was promised in my order originally. Two of my friends also participated in this portrait project and only one of them had received their digital artist files. I called the studio and the lady who answered told me they don’t give customers the artist files. When I told her my friend got hers, she spoke to the production team and they’d send it to me but I ended up only receiving them after calling the following week and being told that it takes time because they don’t usually do this for customers. The entire experience was filled with deceptive marketing, high-pressure tactics, and poor customer service. What was advertised as “complimentary” turned into an expensive, regretful ordeal—I strongly advise others to avoid...
Read moreMy Golden Doodle fur kiddo and myself had the distinct pleasure of being spoiled by this wonderful outfit last night and it simply could not have gone better. I have never gone through an experience like this, and was excited about the idea of capturing a special moment with my Golden, Lucy. From the moment we walked in the door, Carlisha went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. For someone like me that not only does not have and background with photography, but really is not particularly comfortable in that space, we could not have had a better time. We were able to wait in the lobby area and interact with other patrons until our photography team was ready for us. Carlisha brought us back to the large studio room and introduced us to Destini and McKenna, two of the absolute most patient people I have ever interacted with. Destin was fantastic with her direction and encouragement. Although I have never taken a still portrait with a toddler, I can imagine that a 70 pound Golden Doodle would be comparable from an attention span stand point. Destini went out of her way to help encourage both of us, and waited as long as she needed to for 'us' to get that perfect shot. McKenna joined us about half the way through and certainly bonded with Lucy right off the bat. The two of them made a fantastic team, and I can honestly say the final photo that we chose never would have been possible without Destini and McKenna helping us along. It was just simply heartwarming to watch two people that clearly enjoy what they do to such a high extent exercise so much care for us and the outcome of our evening. We cannot say thank you enough.
Once we finished with the photography session we rounded our night out with the peppiest, friendliest, and absolutely most inspiring Art Director you could ask for. Yvonne was the perfect person to close our adventure out with. She truly understands what it means to connect with your client, and walked us through the entire process in a way that not only made sense, but felt comfortable and fun. I can only encourage anyone that visits this studio to take advantage of her creativity and generosity. She will guide you through the experience in a way that leads to such an impactful and meaningful finish it really is difficult to put into words. Art, Music, Life...its a great conversation. 10/10
Park Hill Fine Arts Portraits treated us like clients we didnt deserve to be in the best way possible, and gave us an experience of a lifetime. I will not forget the brilliant team of Carlisha, Destini, McKenna, and Yvonne.
