Big Bear Dent Repair — Local services in Four Corners States

TThe work was good, but the owner tried to get more money than agreed upon. The first quote (about $6,000.00) was just as rough estimate, the second (about $8,000.00) was for the work actually performed which is fine. But when my elderly dad and I went to pick up the Access Van (Special Handicap Lift for those unable to walk) which was obviously unavailable for the weeks during the repair, the owner, Nick, would not let us pay until he spoke with the insurance agent. I stupidly gave our agents name and then got a call from Nick requesting much more! He said "Let's just make it an even $14,000.00". He called again and again to ask if I got the estimate and request payment. Does he believe he is entitled to use all of our insurance monies when we have other expenses to care for my elderly Mother a stroke victim who needs a special lift and help to get in and out of a vehicle because she can't walk or stand?

At that point my husband paid a visit to the shop to discuss the discrepency, only to get lies and a song and dance when he confronted Nick about the cost discrepancy. My husband left the shop, Nick called me to threaten to place a Mechanics lien and reposess our van! Charming response.

My husband did pay the $8,000.00 amount and we are starting to settle down after the stress of dealing with this man's threats. The ethics of the owner are deplorable!

Had someone's door get caught by the Chinook winds in Boulder and slam into my driver side passenger door.
