CONTRACTORS BEWARE!
Wow. 1 star is too generous for their manager Kris who takes care of customer service issues. Everyone else was great to work with, this review is only for their manager and her handling customer service issues.
Here’s the quick hack on their system they’ve been running for years:
You can either get 20% off using a contractor with no warranty or you can get the same 20% off through retail PLUS full warranty. Which one do you pick? It’s obvious.
They might say you get more than 20% off with contractor pricing but it’s not true and I have receipt to prove it.
Why would you use a CONTRACTOR at Thrive? Contractors get screwed and so do their customers. Thrive undercuts the entire value of using a contractor - no warranty AND you still get the same 20% off if you don’t use contractor as a retail buyer. Any other business provides best deals to their highest paying customers and contractors. These guys undercut them. No warranty and same price as retail. If you’re a CONTRACTOR you should buy everything as standard retail and get full warranty then mark it up. That way you don’t lose any money if your clients trees die.
Thrive doesn’t tell CONTRACTORS that retail customer get the same price as contractors + full warranty. And they don’t tell RETAIL customers on their 20% advertisements in Utah County publications they also get full warranty.
Why?
If they advertised full warranty and 20% to retail customers that undercuts the entire system they’ve created for contractors!
You don’t want to use a contractor pricing at Thrive! They don’t take care of their contractors or their clients.
Contractors should call them and tell them you want full warranty since your discount is the same as retail! Retail is getting a better deal than you!
And their manager doesn’t see a problem with that. Thrive, all you had to do was honor your warranty that you offer everyone else and tell me it was better to not use a contractor but you watched me fall right into your trap and didn’t tell me.
You know what she said in the end: sell is final.
Look at their poor reviews, customer service isn’t a priority for them.
Boo 👎🏻 to Thrives manager and her inability to see how a simple fix could make it right and a save everyone the headache...
Read moreUpdate: Thrive deserves zero stars. I thought I would give them another shot because I was having trouble finding a Bloomerang tree. I emailed them and got back a very nice email, saying that some of the trees were marked at $150 and in stock!
I drove right over and asked for help finding the trees, recieved none. Finally found one and was told the trees were as marked, at 209.00. I showed them the email and asked if they maybe had a sale section for trees. They said no, and that someone had "shown up right before me and bought all the marked down trees". She then said they were priced as marked at 159. I said, Great, I'll do 159! But when she looked at the tag she said Oh, weird. My superior told me they were 159, but its marked 209. Okay, it is 209 then!
I left, this time for good. Save your time and money, go anywhere else.
Year ago review: Really rude, terrible customer service. Gave them 3 strikes and they are out. Go to Glover, where they actually want your business. They actually tried to charge me $20 for a rock I found on their property that wasn't even for sale. Haha! I am not cheap in the least but with the $100 worth of plants we bought, you would think most people would have thrown it in for free, or at least charged maybe $5 and then honored the 20% coupon. Nope. They will squeeze every penny and don't even try to ask questions. They will roll their eyes and point you towards their little binder they made with the plant photos so they won't have to waste their precious time talking to you. Would love to ask them what happened--how does the light inside you die when you get to be outside all day with beautiful plants? I'll head elsewhere and not bother you anymore...
Read moreI will never patronize or recommend this nursery again. I went there today looking for plants, trees & shrubbery for fall planting, intending to spend $2-3,000 dollars. When I approached the outdoor counter where 6-7 employees were sitting & standing around, I asked for some assistance to choose certain plants. I was told they do not offer employee assistance. After picking out what I estimated would come to $1,000 dollars, I went to the counter to check out. I asked if there were any discounts, and they informed me there were, but could not offer the 20% discount unless I had the physical coupon. I usually carry coupons with me, but had used a different car. They would not relent, so I told them I would have to go home to retrieve my coupon, as it would save me over $200. I returned, checked out and waited for them to load a tree I had purchased. No one came to load it, so my son backed his truck down the lane where it sat and loaded it for me. An employee hurriedly came to our truck, me thinking they were coming to help us, only to find out they only came to chastise us for driving his truck 20-30 ft down the lane to get closer to the heavy tree. There was no instructions or offer of loading our tree, so we did it ourselves. I explained that no one from their nursery helped or instructed us, and she just shook her head at us and told us we were not allowed to pull down the traveled lane. No kindness, no service. If I were the owner of this business, I would want to know how my employees interacted with my customers. I hope they make the necessary changes that will enable their nursery to truly live up to its name...
