I've lived in four oaks all my life and I've always used this grocery store but ever since Dennis stopped working in the meat department I have had a lot of issues with bad meat being sold from up there I stay two and a half miles away from this grocery store there's no way the meat went bad between being bought from the store and me getting home and a car that has great air conditioning but when I buy meats I bag them up for meals and when I open chicken or pork chops and they smell pungent the first time I thought well maybe I just got something that they left out too long but after the second the third the fourth and so many other times have been happening I have officially stopped buying meat from IGA I now go to the food Lion in Benson to buy my meats something needs to be done about the meat department they obviously do not know what they are doing and I'm not the only one this has happened to a lot of my family lives around four oaks and they have been having the same problems it's only a matter of time before people either stop going to this IGA to purchase meats all together or someone is going to end up suing this company which I would hate to see happen honestly because chances are then the business would go under and something four oaks really doesn't need would be put in its place I myself along with many others do not want to see this happen but I'm afraid if something is not done about the issues in the meat department...
Read moreToday Aug 19th from 7:30-7:50pm I was shopping at the Carlie C’s IGA in Four Oaks NC, when getting ready to check out I walked to one register which already had 2 people waiting to check out, than to another register where a young Caucasian women was standing....I asked her “was she open and could should check me out?” She replied “ No I’m not open, I’m just getting change” so I returned to 1st register I originally went to. As I was approaching the register the young African American woman begin apologizing for what had just occurred but at first I didn’t even realize what was going on until I looked up and seen that the same register I was turned around from because she claimed “she wasn’t open, she was just retrieving some change” was now serving a older white woman not even 2 mins after I had just left her register.......I left the store after purchasing my groceries and immediately called to speak with a manager about the incident but no one would pick up the phone after 5 attempts, it’s a shame that with all the things that is going on with the world, people still find time to treat people differently...

He repeatedly calls me “honey girl” and has asked personal questions like where I live and work, which makes me very uncomfortable. It’s intrusive and unprofessional. I tried to raise these concerns with management, but they clearly don’t take complaints seriously or care about improving the customer experience.
If you value your time or your comfort, I strongly suggest shopping elsewhere. This is not a place to stop if you’re in a hurry—or if you expect to be treated with...
