I visited this restaurant several times back in December while I was staying close by for an out of town visit. Each visit was on point in every way possible. Fast forward six months and it's not the same restaurant.
Once again I'm visiting from out of town. Today I stopped in for a shrimp & spinach salad.
Customer service ZERO stars. The employee was inconvenienced by my presence, the atmosphere was awkward, uncomfortable, and un-inviting. The restaurant was "out of shrimp and out of spinach!" Since I don't eat chicken this left me with zero protein options, unless I opted for half a dozen eggs. I repeated most of my order two to three times- the employee was not interested or paying attention whatsoever. The price of bread served couldn't have been more stale. It was the end piece and brick hard. I don't think a stray dog would have eaten it.
I was actually embarrassed for the employee and restaurant- the fact they're "operating" under such subpar standards; unable to perform even the most basic tasks of a hospitality establishment such as inventory management, customer service, and food quality says a lot about the overall establishment and management (or lack there of).
With so many stellar restaurants to choose from in the area I don't recommend Chopt and definitely will not be back.
Please don't reply asking me to email CHOPT customer service at dot com. I've already wasted enough time dealing with a salad restaurant being out of spinach!!!....serving a piece of brick as bread, dealing with Wednesday Adams Family customer service and writing a review to warn others. I am not spending more time emailing customer service. Next time I'll visit a restaurant who takes pride in their food...
Read moreHEY, CHOPT MANAGEMENT, PLEASE PAY ATTENTION TO THE LOW REVIEWS AND STOP GIVING LIP SERVICE IN YOUR COMMENT REPLIES! YOU HAVE NOT SHOWN THAT YOU CARE BY IMPROVING IN RESPONSE TO ABUNDANT NEGATIVE FEEDBACK! We keep giving this place a rest because of the utter disappointment. There is no quality control. They can't get an order right to save their lives. Management gives lip service when you complain (nicely). Tonight's fiasco involved a Chipotle Chicken Caesar Salad (almost no chicken at all), a Craft Your Own warm bowl, a Chopt. Jr. Salad, and (3) Creamy Tomato Soups (absolutely ice cold despite prompt pickup). The three soups were ice cold despite prompt pickup and living nearby. The dressings for one of the orders were completely left out despite being recorded on the order. The Chicken Caesar had almost no chicken, mostly greens. The warm bowl had a base of grains and spinach. Isn't it reasonable to expect the spinach to be warm, either by separate warming or by putting warm grains on top of the spinach to wilt it? Not here. They just put cold, raw spinach in the bowl along with barely warm grains, as if it was just a salad. And if you are going to charge SO much for "Goods" and "Fixings", be a little generous with them -- either that or stop charging so much. It's as if they give you a pinch of fairy dust for $.79 or And maybe it's just us, but we thought the Somos Verde Ranch that one of us received was putrid tasting. Take it off the menu and bring back Chimchurri Ranch, which was a great dressing! We are DONE with this Chopt location. Please replace the management here and give the staff some training! Institute quality control measures! Care about each...
Read moreThis review is for the Kingstowne Chopt location specifically. Other Chopts would get a 5 star. I am writing this because my wife and I have had so many bad experiences at this location that we now get food from the Chopt in Ballston or Rosslyn, even though they are much farther from our place. The first few times were when they just opened, so we gave the benefit of the doubt it was just early opening issues (which would be fully understandable). But then we gave it a break and came back many months after the opening, and the issues still existed.
Note, to be fair, we have not visited in probably 6 months at least. Due to having had such bad experiences in the past, and now visiting other locations instead. Every once in a while I check reviews on Google and Yelp to see if the newer reviews are better, especially if they show some sign that management has changed. We are waiting for a sign that management has changed or to see a string of positive reviews come in. Once that happens we will give this another chance.
To the owner of Chopt: We would go to Chopt a ton more if we could trust this location, since it is so much closer to us. Also, if the management has changed recently, or something has happened that should make us consider giving this location another try, let us know. If we go back and get the usual experience we expect at a Chopt location a few times in a row, I'll update this review to positive.
Final note, anyone seeing this. I almost never leave negative reviews. Most of my reviews are 5 stars. I'm not leaving this to complain, rather just in the hopes that things...
