Our overall experience was great and we will definitely be coming back. This restraunt has beautiful esthetics with thoughtful service and very fair prices. I ordered an Iced Tai Tea, with a side of won ton soup and spring rolls. I had the Panang Curry as an entrée with the fried bananas as dessert. I was pleasantly surprised with the wonton soup. I fully expected a basic broth soup with dumplings as I have received so often in the past. The soup came adorned with cilantro, green onions, carrots cooked tender with slices of pork and the wontons itself. It was delicious and perfect for a cold day. The spring rolls were served lukewarm, which was actually nice since it helped bring out the flavors and the plum sauce compliemented it well. The tai tea was the best I've had in a while. The tea was brewed fresh and it wasn't overwhelming. It is very sweet so it was perfect for me. The Panang Curry was exactly as expected. It has a hint of lemongrass along with the coconut milk. The brocolli (all their vegetables really) were cooked to perfection. The spice level I ordered was mild, which is just enough to decongestant your nose and nothing more. I don't like to suffer when I eat, so mild was the way to go. The only thing I would change is the amount of Curry sauce it comes with. I typically like to drench my rice in it and have excess amounts leftover to enjoy like soup. The fried bananas with ice cream was the icing on the cake. The bananas were wrapped with dough and deep fried until crispy and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and garnished with honey and sesame seeds. The sweetness was subtle and...
Read moreAbsolutely awful and I mean awful customer service. I just called in for a carry out (4/23/15 at 12:30pm). After placing the order, the gentleman on the phone told me, "last time you ordered you did not pick up. So make sure you pick up." I was a bit taken aback so asked him what he meant. His response was, "It says, you did not pick up." So I asked him again, what he meant by that. His response, " I don't know. Just make sure you pick up as last time you ordered you did not pick up." I told him that's not true and he said, "I don't know. You did not pick up. That's what it says--the customer profile. It says, you did not pick up, so make sure you pick up." Makes no sense at all why I was being given attitude for something I didn't do. Instead of apologizing for making a mistake, I was spoken to and reprimanded in a rude tone. Not the first time this has happened at Pasara where the wait staff is rude--considering I've been eating at both Kingstowne and Jamieson Avenue locations for nearly 10 years (Jamieson more recently), I'd expect they would have learnt to appreciate a regular customer. No more Pasara for me, thank you. I'll also inform all my colleagues, friends and family and highly advise they never visit Pasara as I used to recommend it to...
Read moreI read a few reviews and was skeptical but the person I dined with, my mom, spoke highly of Pasara so I went anyway. We were seated immediately and a server was there quickly to get an order and our drinks. We ordered the stuffed chicken wings and something that looks like a spring roll. Before we could finish deciding on our entrees, a different person came to get our drink and food order, again. Server 1 came out with our appetizers fairly quickly. We gave our entree order and were explained which dishes were spicy and could be modified. The stuffed chicken wings were good, different, but tasty. Like stuffed dough balls with a chicken bone in the middle. My red curry with chicken was spicy but very good. (I like spice). Mom's drunken spaghetti was good too, even though the spicy would have countered the sweetness in the sauce. We were treated respectfully and enjoyed our meal. I...
