Update 6/12/2022 - 5 stars!
After speaking to others who tried this restaurant, we decided to give it another try. We are glad we did!! I think the day we went they may have been having an off day. This time, the chicken was delicious, the sides were great. Good portions. The alfajor was still on point. We took the food to go, but the person we spoke with was friendly and the rest of the staff appeared happier than last time.
We will definitely return!
The staff was very unfriendly. I went in and said hi in Spanish, the woman at the register just blinked at me. Ok, I thought, she doesnโt speak Spanish, so the rest of the conversation was in English. She also had her mask under her mouth, which is not great seeing that covid cases are increasing rapidly. Anyway, she did not smile once and just seemed very unhappy, as did the rest of the staff/cooks. As we were walking to a table I heard her speak in Spanish to a co-worker. It was odd.
The food was okay. The arroz chaufa and yucca were good. The sauces were good. The chicken was okay, moist but flavorless. It didnโt have the Pollo a la brasa taste. It was just a whole chicken like the kind you can buy precooked at a grocery store. Maybe a little crispier. The alfajor was AMAZING. Would I recommend it? Meh. There are better Pollo places nearby with more flavor and much nicer staff. This one is a lot pricier as well. I donโt think we will return...
ย ย ย Read moreThis Friday night, my husband and a couple of friends who came to visit Virginia. We took them to dinner and went to your restaurant. My husband ordered Lomo Saltado and found it very salty. I went to the window and told one of his employees that the Lomo Saltado was very salty and she responded with attitude: Bring the dish so the cook can try it and see. Which seemed very rude and too strange to me; Since the food is very delicate, take it from our table to walk through the restaurant to the kitchen so they can test to see if it is TRUE or NOT? (we had never heard anything like that before), I replied: No! You go to our table and check it out!! Then an employee (male) came to the table and said he would take the dish to the kitchen for them to taste it. I said: you go to an American restaurant or any other restaurant and something like this happens, they wonโt touch your plate, they change it or they solve your problem so that the customer comes back again. We spent 68 US$ there. So I took half of the food scraps that my husband couldn't eat for health reasons from his plate, took the dish to where they deliver the orders, and left it there. I will make sure I don't come back and I will tell my friends and family not to go there. We could have gone to Coccorico! and I was the one who suggested my husband go to...
ย ย ย Read moreStands out as a gem for those with a penchant for Peruvian flavors. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by an ambiance that was both clean and festive, making the dining experience not just about the food but also the joyous atmosphere it's served in. The staff at the register were exceptionally welcoming, contributing to a very pleasant start to the meal.
The food, oh the food! It was nothing short of spectacular. Spin Pollo offers a larger selection list than what you might find at typical Peruvian chicken spots, ensuring that there's something for everyone. Whether you're in the mood for the classic Pollo a la Brasa, bursting with spices and cooked to perfection, or you're looking to try something different from their expansive menu, you won't be disappointed.
The flavors were deep, rich, and beautifully balanced, showcasing the best of Peruvian cuisine. The food came out piping hot, a clear indicator of the freshness and care with which each plate was prepared. It's rare to find a place that pays such close attention to the quality of both its service and...
