I have been a regular customer of the bar side for several years. Tonight I went in there and ordered a glass of wine. A friend of mine purchased me four drinks, along with about seven other people at the bar. Now don’t get me wrong, I did not drink all of them, but neither did my friends, but they were paid for nonetheless.
When I ordered a third glass of wine, I noticed a shift in the people behind the bar. None of them were recognizable, and they clearly had no bar experience; it was almost like a circus.
My wine was hot! Not warm… Hot! When I complained, they put ice cubes in it! Ice cubes! In my wine glass! At Bonefish!
The ice melted immediately, which shows you how warm the wine was. When I asked them for another glass, that was not watered down, they told me all they had was warm wine because that’s what the previous bartender left them with.
I don’t care if you’re in your worst situation, staffing situation ever, on a Friday night, you don’t run out of chilled Chardonnay!
I finally decided to give up when they brought me another glass, that was also warm and I took a square Artisan ice cube, and stuck it in my wine glass, which had a round opening. That’s when I realized I should not be sticking a square peg, and a round hole!
So I left and came home.
By the time I got home, I started receiving phone calls from my friends that were still at the bar. Apparently the new bartenders thought that it would be productive for them to badmouth me for walking out on my check!
Of course, my friends called me they told me what was going on so I immediately called management.
First of all, I did not walk out on a check, nor would I ever! If anything, Bonefish owes me beverages, because my friend purchased me four drinks, and I only had two. When I was not able to get a third cold drink, I left.
So we have a couple of problems here. One, my friend paid for four drinks and I only had two. Two the new people behind the bar that seem to have appeared mid shift had no idea how to handle a crowd or people for that matter. And three, no self respecting bartender will talk trash about a regular customer if they don’t know the situation. Even if they know the situation, you do not talk trash about people in your profession.
By the time I got home and received so many phone calls telling me how the new bartender was badmouthing me, I had no choice, but to call the management and tell my side of the story. Granted, she (Molly) profusely apologized and said “if you ever decide Give us another chance, we will totally take care of you.”
Let’s be clear… I will never set foot in that place again, My friend paid for four drinks, and I only drank two and that’s just for me! He bought several drinks for about eight different people in the bar, and they were rung up and paid for! Most of those people did not drink the drinks that were purchased for them. So the fact that you have the nerve to tell me I didn’t pay my check is BS! And the fact that you have employees that are going to gossip like that before they know what’s happening is deplorable!
I promise you, I will never set foot in your restaurant and bother you again. But that doesn’t do anything for the fact that you’ve ruined my reputation by your JV bartenders that stepped in tonight.
Good luck staying opened after the new restaurants open. I see a quick exit in all of...
Read moreUPDATE: Management reached out and did state they would address the issue with this particular location. I appreciated the gesture and am looking forward to all the positive improvements of this location.
I have no clue why the service is so terrible. The 2nd special occasion coming here that was ruined and UNFORTUNATELY because it is a parent favorite we returned not learning our lesson from the last time. The same manager, Amara, was working and this time it was Chanel the server who did an entire lap around the building with less people to wait on, but for some reason would not bring us our check or the dessert for my mother’s birthday. Absolutely, the worst place to go to for any special event. Last time there was an issue with not getting the correct order, not receiving the right bills, delayed service and this time it was delayed service not helping us celebrate a special occasion and running around avoiding us, and not getting our check. Then getting annoyed with us for asking for check twice. Not to mention when we finally did get our check it took more time to find someone who could actually take our payments.
The manager, most of the servers and our server were located a near the bar on the other side. For a long while not a single server was on the floor in the main dining area. Another person had to walk up to the hostess for assistance. They can see this on their cameras for validation.
Had to be sure this manager was working the last time we had a similar horrible experience and she admitted she was. Truthfully, the team clearly does not respect her or is mismanaged because no one should ever have to chase anyone down for service.
Would highly discourage people from ever going to this Restaurant.
The apologies are tiresome. The first time was a huge blunder on their part - the 2nd time shows this is just how things are now run there. Not interested in returning and again would not recommend a visit to...
Read moreYou enter through a turnstyle door that presents the entrance well. The front of the restaurant is slightly confusing since you walk into a bar area with a hostess stand to the left that faces away from customers.
This restaurant has a bar area and a dining area. The dining area is very elegant with nice cups, silverware and plates. They bring you the best bread and olive oil to start. The oil mixture was seriously amazing and flavorful.
We sat down but they took almost 15 minutes to greet us after the hostess sat us before they came to take our drink order. We were considering leaving since it didn't seem like anyone knew we were there. The restaurant hardly had anyone in it.
We ordered cocktails first, a dirty martini and a pineapple martini. The dirty martini came garnished with pimento stuffed olives rather than blue cheese. This tasted great, although it was not what we ordered. When we ordered our drinks we were ready to order our food at the same time.
The food came quickly and the presentation was fantastic. The arrangement of the food items and the plate optics were top notch. The silverware was clean and napkins folded for presentation. The food was mouth wateringly good. Very tender lobster and the rice with the shrimp was seasoned well. The mahi mahi tasted slightly dry but perfectly seasoned on top. The steak was cooked perfectly and the mash potatoes were creamy.
The wait staff was friendly and cordial. We ordered carrot lava cake to go. When getting home to eat it later it was super moist and had cream cheese with a side of whip cream in a separate container. The cake was sweet and fluffy.
Overall this is an amazing tasting restaurant in a good location with a chefs kiss for taste. The wait staff wasn't very attentive when we first sat down but...
