N THAI PALACE (HALAL) — Restaurant in Franklin Township

My previous review was 5 stars. My family and I have been ordering from this restaurant on a regular basis since they've opened. Over the years management has changed twice and so have the flavors. Despite my discrepancies over the past couple of years, I never changed my review until now since overall, the food was great.

In the past year or so I've ordered various tofu dishes. On multiple occasions the tofu tasted past it's sell-by date. The first time, I just ate around it. The second time, I called the restaurant. The response from the manager was "the kitchen said it was still good". I was not imagining this. My partner noticed the "off" taste as well. The third time, the manager offered to make my next APPETIZER on the house (it was an entree that tasted slightly spoiled). Still, I never changed my review since apparently, those few of us with a keen enough palate to know when food begins to turn are the only ones complaining about these dishes. And what the hey anyways, they make really good pineapple rice.

After my interaction with the manager today, however, I will not be going back ever again. I made a takeout order: "3 Golden Tofus, 2 Chicken Skewers, 1 Pineapple Rice, extra.sauce for the appetizerSSSS". When I arrived, there were 2 chicken entrees, not the appetizer i intended to order. I regretfully acknowledge my mistake and the manager was pretty much like, "tough break, that's what you ordered." Of course, this ticked me off. His argument was that it's $36 out of his pocket (actual cost does not equal price), the food is already made, I said "skewer" not "satay". My argument was, I made a mistake in my choice of words and this is the first time I have ever been in an establishment that has refused to work with a customer--a LOYAL customer--in negotiating a solution that would be mutually beneficial. He would not budge. I was not allowed to exchange even ONE of the entrees for the appetizer I intended to order. So, I left and left him with everything.

I just reviewed the menu again because the manager emphasized that when I ordered he asked me to confirm, "chicken skewers?" To which I replied, "yes". This, according to him, was proof that I'm an idiot and must pay him now. Upon checking the menu, the entree "Chicken Skewers" does not exist. "Grilled Asian Skewers" is on the menu, not the terminology he held against me. And btw, the Chicken Satay appetizer consists of chicken strips ON SKEWERS!! (The entree? No skewers.)

Though I've never watched the show, I'm sure this miscommunication would make a great premise for a Seinfeld scene. In reality, N Thai Palace lost a customer for life and now I have to find some place else that makes really good pineapple rice. If you have any recommendations, please...

The most perfect place for any occasion…whether you want to grab a quick bite, pick up a meal, host a private party, cater, dine in, or take out. They also have a buffet, I believe, in the afternoon hours. They have two locations but we visited the Somerset restaurant. My family and I usually come here to dine in and the entire restaurant is always kept clean, tidy, peaceful, and all of the workers are extremely generous and friendly. The utensils and plates are always squeaky clean, the lighting in the restaurant is top tier, and the seating is not only comfortable and clean but also very fancy. They also give you a lot of food whenever you order from them; you get your money’s worth! They also decorate your food with edible decorations and even cute little flowers. The waiters always cater to your needs and even offer to write in a certain request if you want food done a certain way. You’re also given options for the spice level from mild up to very hot. Since we have been going to this restaurant often, they’ve also given us a complementary/free menu item as a great bonus to make our experience even more memorable and exciting. Definitely a very fine Thai dining experience that I recommend...

What a gem in the ruff!!! Thai Palace interior, the food, the employees, the prices AB-SO-LUTE-LY AMAZING!!!!! Google only always 5 starts but i want to give it a 9!!! They'll get a 10 when they start an Instagram page, to show off the talented designed meals the Chef(s) makes.😁 Wendy the head Hostess was extremely wonderful,welcoming, detailed, hilarious, patient, and knew the menu and its ingredients as if she made the menu herself. Lol. Azan the waiter was on point. He delivered the GORGEOUS, TASTY, food. Made sure we had everything we needed (multiple times)! He was generous, opened up about the two locations, and its history.

All i can say is they will have to get used to my face b/c im bringing my family, friends,Co-workers,Church members, and more. FYI: Great place for date night(s)!!
