My fiance and I ordered a bed and box spring and paid the entire amount the same day. We were told that it would be ordered on Monday and would come in the following Monday. We told them that we would come and pick it up and if it came in early to please call us so we could come get it earlier and they agreed. When our Monday came my fiance came to pick up the bed where he waited for an hour and then had to go back into the warehouse to find out that our bed was delivered to someone else that previous Saturday. So not only was someone else sleeping on our bed but they did not follow through with calling us to inform us that our bed had arrived. We were then told they would have to order another bed to be made for us. We were dissatisfied and requested our money back. The lady at the desk came up with an alternative plan where we could use their floor model while waiting for our bed to arrive. We were told that our bed would arrive on Thursday the same week that we had this issue. We agreed and they delivered their floor model the same day. It is now Thursday and I called to see when the bed would arrive so I could have it stripped and everything out of the way for the movers. I was informed that not only the bed was not shipped yet but they hadn't even ordered it. I asked why it had not been ordered when we were told it would be and was told that they don't order until Sunday and it would take a week for them to make it and ship it. It seems to me that none of these people are on the same page with the policies and procedures. I am extremely dissatisfied and once we finally get our bed will more than likely not shop at this...
   Read moreIn 50 years of marriage I’d say over half my furniture is from Slumberland. I like the Freeport store. They recognize me and if I call in about a lift recliner motor going out after umpteen years they get it replaced. New cushions for it after 10 years, yes mam. I needed a second lift recliner for my husband who was severely injured in a car crash. I got to the store later than planned and in 40 minutes I had a gorgeous perfect lift recliner coming on the next Thursday. With a nice perk thrown in. When I walked in I said I have 30 minutes to buy a lift recliner. He said I close in 3. My husband had called from hospital and made me late. Adam, who knows a lot about furniture, said to a staff, you go, I’m going to help her. We sat in all the lift chairs, discussed upholstery differences and by golly there is a 2 motor chair. It will lift the legs on its own and the other motor controls the back. Perfect for husband’s poor broken body. So, at 7:40 I walked out so happy. A week of dealing with hospitals, insurance and trying to buy a replacement car in this new world and being old and hungry on a hot day, it was refreshing to have a perfect experience. Adam, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable about every product in his store. If he doesn’t think something will be good for you, he won’t sugarcoat it and try and make you buy it just to make a sale. He will help you find the right one. He doesn’t rush you either which is really nice. This last time my husband and I went we needed a new bed mattress. Adam let us take a long time in trying out and then deciding on a mattress. We really wanted to go with something that would help us get a good nights sleep and didn’t want to feel rushed in deciding which mattress would work best for both of us. He didn’t try to make us spend more money than we could afford. He showed us beds within our price range and we found one that we think we will really like.
