Springs Valley Supply Inc — Local services in French Lick

Needed something to seal brass/copper fittings. I specifically asked for a product that would seal the threads and gave him the details of the hardware I was working with.

The gentleman who helped me told me that plumbers putty would do the trick; it did not. I had reservations that this was the right sealant but deferred to his "expertise" and purchased the putty anyway. I went home and applied the putty and it did nothing but create a mess.

And of course Springs Valley Supply is closed at the time of this writing so I have a couple of options to remedy this. I can wait until tomorrow when they open and let the pipes leak all night or I can go to Walmart and get the correct sealant.Can you guess what I'm going to do?

I'll leave you with one final thought.If you don't positively know the solution to a problem DO NOT act like you do. At best it creates unhappy customers who will doubt any and all future recommendations or advice you give. At worst the wrong guidance could cause safety issues and cost the customer more to undo the results of...
