Just to be fair I never had any issue before in this store I visited this fridly location on August 1st hoping for a positive experience, but unfortunately, I was met with behavior that felt racially biased, I was treated differently than other customers—ignored It was disheartening and unacceptable.
What happend when I came to the cashier I believe her name was Sue she old lady she told me to go to the other cashier there was no one at the cashier I understand someone will come to this cashier but my issue was why would you send me to the 2nd cashier and the next person you served him??????.
Everyone deserves to shop without being judged based on their race or background. I hope the store takes this feedback seriously and invests in proper training to ensure respectful and equitable treatment for all customers. The person who was involved in her name is Sue. I called and talked to a manager who was in charge he was telling me how good his employee was when I insisted on speaking to a hire manager He said the manager is not working but he would talk to him about this issue and look at the camera and he'll have him call me and told me his Manager name was Tony Monday 08/04/25. No one called today is 8/13/25. Either you don't care or the Manager on duty at the time did not send the other manager so he can protect his employee. I have all the conversations recorded I wish I can share my recording

Read moreFirst of all...Let us address reviewer MIKE JONES..holy cow Mike, I think that smell is you and not the store! Mike Jones is seemingly a big fan of some places and really tough on others. Mike is also a big fan of Hitler and Charles Manson (follow his google+ page). Now on to the important. Mike's Discount Foods has a special permit from the state of Minnesota that allows them to sell food near or even past the expiration. In additon, many food items do not have an expiration but a best used by. Companies benifit from those dates by making stores sell old inventory at a loss and buy more product from the producers. Mike's buys up those items and passes the savings along to you. You will save tons of money and sometimes you can get really cool stuff for next to nothing. They buy items from Byerly's, Lund's and other specialty stores. You might have to pick through fruit but if you make your own jelly or want to jar fruit Mike's is the best. They ALWAYS have yogurt at super great deals. I do not work for Mike's but I do shop at the Anoka Store at least once a week and the Fridley store as often as I can. The store in Fridley is the best....
Read moreThis place saved me when my dual income home very abruptly became a single one. The extremely low prices and wide variety of foods and toiletries make it a must check out place alone. I highly suggest everyone at least give it a go once. Be sure to bring your own bags/boxes though! To get better deals, they gotta cut out the unnecessary stuff like free plastic, going to clog the landfill anyways, bags. I would give it 5 stars, but there are a couple very little things that hold it back from 5 for me. The quality/expiration of some of the foods can be questionable sometimes. It's not all the food, and it's not often, but be sure to check the dates. Best by, use by, sell by aren't a 100% tell of good or bad, but within reason. The other small grip would be the store itself is pretty run down, at least in fridley. Do I mind so much that they are passing bigger deals onto their customers instead of fixing up the store? No, not really, but some of the run down bits and become a little bit of a hassle when trying to navigate the store itself. If you are tight on cash or just sick of still overpaying at even Walmart, look no further...
