2 times over the span of three weeks I drove all the way to Mason's during their normal business hours and they had a handwritten sign that they were closed $5 toll each way and nothing. careless ownership. if they don't want to be open then don't have those hours or employ another employee whenever you have "family functions"

Decent prices on packs. I bought a few cards from the bulk section, which were $10 for 3 for some uncommons, and $1 for 4 from their common. I pulled these four from a BB/WF tin, which for the price I paid, was very happy I got these from them.

I went to Mason’s for the first time with my son and I loved the shop. A great mix of loose cards, packs, and full cases. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable. You name the sport or interest and Mason’s has the cards.

I have been to this shop on three occasions. My visit today is why I'm writing this review. The past two visits are why I'm not giving it a 1 star, which after today, they deserve.

My first visit nearly 2 years ago I was just getting back into the hobby, lived nearby and went to check out their shop. It's in a nice area and the shop itself is nice.

Selection wise, they are mainly wax with accessories and storage stuff. Not a big selection of singles but they did have some singles I liked.

Second time I went in was about a year later. The company I work with does some pretty big baseball tournaments in the Dallas area and my owner told me they donated some packs of cards to the players in the event before. So I went to chat with them to see if they'd be interested in being involved again. They weren't. Which is cool, no worries there.

3rd visit was today. Last little bit of context. I've been to half a dozen card shops in DFW since March and none of them were forcing me to wear a mask. They worn one which is fine by me. Your body, your choice.

But when I walked in today, they immediately stopped me and said I had to wear a mask. I asked why, the mask mandate was lifted. They said because it's on our door.

Which doesn't mean anything. I wasn't rude. I didn't cuss, raise my temper, or insult him.

I just questioned why I had to wear a mask.

Well when I walked in I was wearing my shirt that had the logo for my company that does the baseball tournaments. He recognized it and threatened to call my boss to tell him.

I told him I don't care I'm not here on company business I just came to buy some cards. I'm not "on the clock" nor was I here to ask you to support our event.

You're threatening customers who don't want to wear a mask, that you'll call my boss?

And tell him what, that I questioned why I had to wear a mask?

I don't care if you call him. Go ahead. Besides, you haven't supported our business with in two years, why would you think you have any power?

Absolutely ridiculous. Now I see why they have so many 1 star reviews.

I asked if they had any masks that I could wear because I didn't have one. They said no.

You can't make it mandatory and then not give them out.

Here's the worst part of it all. I'm very anti mask. They do not work and it's just a control move. But I wanted to find out for myself what they would do.

So walked to a nearby business and asked for a mask. I came back with a mask but wore it under my nose just to see if they would say anything.

Nothing. They let me shop.

šŸ¤ÆšŸ¤ÆšŸ˜‘šŸ˜‘

What. A. Joke. A mask doesn't do a damn bit of good in the first place but it sure as hell isn't going to work if it's not fully covering my face.

You never cared about the masks. It's a control thing and you're just scared someone will sue you.

I'm on the hunt for some cards so I wanted to see what they had and to test out the mask theory. I bought 4 cards that I wanted.

I'm never bringing my business to them again.

I much prefer the shop in Argyle (Texas Sports Cards) they're probably the best in town... or Nick's.

You probably won't have the same experience I have. I hope not. On a positive note to end this.

The shop is clean. You will likely find some wax that you're looking for. And if you're lucky, you still find some singles you like. They have a decent collection of graded cards. Plenty of accessories to...

I used to love this place. Would come in every Sunday and talk to the lady who works on Sundays. She’s very nice. I had come in about 4 Sundays in a row and spent around $500 total over those 4 times so I was a returning customer. I bought 3 topps chrome blasters, 1 topps series 1 hobby, a graded Shohei Ohtani card, and at least 4 or 5 of their mystery packs.

I tried to buy a 2020 Topps Chrome hobby box. It was listed for $374. I asked if he’d cut a deal to make it $350. eBay comps are around $360. The guy working that day instantly shot me down and said they don’t go off of eBay comps but that they only go off of retailers like Dave and Adam’s. Lol who doesn’t use eBay comps at least a little bit? I instantly left and haven’t been back since. It’s crazy because I had started to tell people about how great their store is too but not anymore.

To me that is bad business. If you won’t work with honest loyal customers sometimes and negotiate deals then they don’t need my business. I haven’t been back since. But again the woman that works sundays is super nice. But that encounter has sort of turned me off from the hobby. When the market crashes they’ll miss the customers like me. I just moved to Frisco too so I was going to be a regular but I’ll just drive over to Nick’s Sports Cards instead.

It’s not a bad spot. Just expect to pay sticker price and never get a deal if the medium build Hispanic...

Took my son in today for his birthday to look at cards. The guy never left his chair for the 45 mins we were there. Asked if we could move the $10 bargain box from a high table so my son could see the cards and he said no that someone had dropped it before. Never offered to help move it or nothing. The only boxes of singles they had other than local teams start at $10 per card and get cheaper with more buys. Problem is most are worth $2 not $10. Found two we wanted and when I took it to the counter asked the guy what was the best he could do on them plus two wax boxes and three other singles. He smugly responded the prices are the prices. Only way they come off prices is if we spend well over $1000. What a joke. The only reason I even asked was because their discount of the cards marked in the box didn’t show an amount for two cards. I responded to him saying like didn’t have to be rude about it. His reply was, ā€œme rude? How about you the first thing you ask me is for a discount!ā€ Then he proceeded to tell me the card I picked out the marked $10 bin was really $20 because it had a price on it so that trumped the price on the box. It was an awful experience for my 7 year old and myself. I’ll stick to better places like RJ Dukes and others that appreciate you coming in and trying to buy cards and help young collectors. Not this place. I’ll...
