Much better prices than the other laundromats, although it'd be nice if those prices were on the website. 4 stars for affordable laundry alone
Some of the machines are squirrly, like the lower left coin op dryer which had an error, and the coin washer which worked better if you sort of put in the quarter and leveraged it up towards the top of the coin slot before letting it drop, but the dryer eventually worked when I poked it a bit.
Place was clean enough for an old coin op laundry, and one of the other people said the new owner left rags to clean under the rubber flap in the washer where things get stuck from prior washings which was nice. I didn't actually to my knowledge meet the owner though, just learned second hand about the rags. Unless that other person was the owner and I didn't know it.
There is a book shelf in the corner with books, and as a nerd and bookworm I approved of that.
There's also an ATM and a change machine. And free wifi which was functional. And a lost and found in the corner.
The place was open on July fourth, although I visited later.
I wish there was a bike rack, I wasn't able to lock up my bike and it made me nervous the entire laundry cycle. I don't know about Fruita, but there's a bike theft ring in Grand Junction and I ran into one of their guys on the bus and he made a weird comment about my bike so I'm worried about it now whenever I can't see it or have it properly locked up. So a bike rack would be nice, even if it's just like one pole sunk into the parking lot somewhere. I didn't like having to sit with one eye on my bike and the other on my laundry.
A pop machine would be nice too. There is a bakery next door but I didn't stop to see what...
Read moreI left. After opening several machines that were dirty or full of animal hair just upon glance, I finally found one that was okay. Not great, okay. I put my sheets in and then pulled back the rubber piece in the front and immediately removed my things and left. So gross. Machines are supposed to be cleaned out! Wiped down. Clean cycles run. This was nasty. Many out of order also. It didn't help there were dogs tied out front with piles of feces at the front door and a man kicking and swearing at them. I tried not to hold that against the place but it was bad on all fronts. Drove 20 minutes into Grand...
Read moreI’ve been coming to this laundromat for a while, and I have to say, the difference under the new owners is huge! now, they’ve really turned things around — it’s much cleaner, fresher, and the whole place feels more welcoming.
They’ve also made some great updates: the machines seem to be running a lot better (no more half-washed loads!), and there’s an ATM now, which makes it so much easier if you forget cash.
Overall, it’s been a great experience lately, and I’m so thankful for the effort the new owners have put in. It’s nice to see a local business cared for...
