this is an old review I did on Yelp on Apr 13, 2023 I no longer use Yelp, since somehow my account lost 100 or so reviews I made on Yelp. I am copying this last review from Yelp and putting on Google Reviews, which is the only platform I will be using in the future.
Lots of folks here tonight, which is always a good sign. A friend of mine recommended this place highly.
I would say this is the best Mexican I have had in the Grand junction area. Last spring I spent quite a bit of time, here, and sampled every Mexican restaurant. If my memory serves, Fiesta Guadalajara is the best of the bunch.
I had a fiesta platter. It was quite good and very large. , and I highly recommend it. The Mariscos especial were excellent. Wrapped in bacon. Everything's good with bacon right?
The Pollo asado on the platter was outstanding. Very flavorful and cooked perfectly. It was the flavor highlight of the dish.
It also had Carne Asado. The platter came with several pieces of carnet on the side, which were very dried out and frankly, they tasted a bit like beef jerky. Over cooked. Somebody in the kitchen must've realized this, because a few minutes later, out came another plate with some freshly cooked Carne and perfectly prepared. So I have nothing to complain about, since I had two servings, but I just wonder why they served the first after recognizing it was an issue?
Anyway, nothing to complain about here. Great service, delicious food and standard American Mexican food ambiance
Bottom line: I'll be back again, anytime...
Read moreAlthough I have probably written close to 75 reviews on Mexican restaurants in my many travels over the past few years and have given out a few 5 star ratings. This place honestly needs to be rated 6 stars as the food was absolutely perfection!
The presentation, the flavours, the seasoning. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned. They even have something the waiter referred to as cabbage salad, but I would like to call it coleslaw for the God's ! LOL! The chips were of a higher grade than anything I have seen at the past dozen places. Fresh and thin and baked goodness.
The waiter helped me with selection and was very gracious and attentive to answer all my questions.
It's a nice little setup, not exactly modern but more authentic to restaurants I have eaten ate down in Mexico. They have some soft Spanish guitar based music piped in at a comfortable volume level which just adds to the atmosphere.
As usual when I find a place this good I will be marking this in my Google maps places under favorites so I may attempt a return visit here...
Read moreWe live in Fruita and go to this restaurant a lot. Tonight was one of the worst experiences we have ever had at a restaurant ever. We wanted to eat outside and the waiter was very annoyed, but they served us none the less. He pushed us to order quickly, so we ordered. After we got our order, no one came to serve us. We had to go to the podium and get our own to go box, and we never were even offered an additional drink. When another couple showed up and went outside to eat, they were catered to. We were supposedly in the smoking area, but when we smoked after our meal we were told we could not smoke there because we may offend this other couple, even though they didn't seem to mind. I have always liked this restaurant, but after this experience, I will not be returning and will let everyone I know about how awful our experience was and how rudely we...
