Once upon a time, about 5 years ago, I would have given this mall a much better rating. This mall used to be awesome and a great place for killing some time. Now nearly 1 in 4 places are available for lease, a majority of the ones that aren't are hair/beauty salons. Half of the restaurants weren't open during our time here, and we were here from open until after 2. There was a pottery studio, which I thought was really cool. At least 2 of the stores are secondhand stores if a person is looking for decent, inexpensive clothes. Most of the rest are really pricey shoe or hat stores. Oh, yes, there is also a Spencer's.
Closest to the Harvey street entrance is the food court which features a large play area for young children. The public bathrooms are right there as well and, while not glamorous, weren't anywhere near the worst I've seen. They were clean and well stocked. In the same hallway as the bathrooms I also noticed a separate nursing room for breastfeeding mothers.
One of the best features, in my opinion is that the main walkways are all carpeted, so it's less echoey and easier on your joints to walk around for...
Read moreMoved here 3 years ago from Wisconsin...at first it was an ok mall, nothing fancy. Not sure what has transpired over the last few years but this mall is on the brink of shutting down. It is very dirty and lacks any kind of pride. Some have said the bathrooms are in need of updating but honestly if they cleaned them properly it wouldn't look outdated. I used the womans restroom yesterday and every stall handle didn't work, it was either broke off or hard to lock and unlock. The stainless steel stalls are a disgrace. Whoever cleans (when they actually do) needs to be fired. Small food court, slim selections of decent stores and its loud inside. Outside is not kept up, garbage, soiled diapers, cigarette butts are just a few things all over the parking lot and entrances. Now Sears is moving out on the heels of Yonkers. Seem to me this mall has poor management. Heard they upped the rent, seems like something a slumlord would do without making improvements and keeping the place attractive. If you want to learn anything visit Gurnee Mill Mall in Gurnee Illinois management. Otherwise I see u going down a...
