Okay, so during my recent visit to Michigan, my family took me to one of their favorite buffet restaurants. They are regulars, but this time we were there as a pack, maybe 20 of us. I've been to local Asian buffets where I live, but they don't come close to this one. I couldn't believe the number of selections they had. I mean there was EVERYTHING from fruits and vegetables to several different chicken, shrimp, fish, rice and sushi dishes... AND, they even had a separate grilling station for steak/beef.... I didn't indulge in desserts but it was all there... You name it, they had it... I fill up pretty quickly, so I don't make it past one plate very often, but I did hit up the creamy coconut shrimp and the bacon wrapped shrimp a second time. They had so many varieties of shrimp dishes that I was in shrimp heaven. The greatest thing was that the food didn't look or taste like it had been sitting out for very long. The selections I tried all seemed freshly cooked. The fried shrimp tasted freshly made, while in most other places it becomes rubbery from being out too long. Nothing was dried out and believe me, I looked VERY closely my first time through.
I took small portions of each type of shrimp and made up the rest of my plate with yellow rice and a side of fruits (Watermelon cubes, Mandarin Orange slices and Honeydew melon cubes). I looked around the table as I sat down and EVERYONE was concentrating on their food. You know it's good when no one is talking. There was something for everyone. If you're a vegan there are plenty of vegetables about. If you have a sweet tooth, well they have plenty to satisfy you.
I was lucky enough to go two nights in a row which allowed me to sample their chicken dishes, which were great. The Japanese Chicken and the Bourbon Chicken were especially good. I didn't hit up the grill, but other family members did and they were very satisfied. Most of us had desert, but once again, I was pleasantly full and passed on the opportunity, but the selections looked awfully good.
The staff was very nice and accommodating, automatically refilling our beverages with no fuss and no interruptions. Service with a smile and a nice attitude. If you're ever up near Muskegon, then give this buffet a visit. I was very fortunate to have visited TWO completely different, family endorsed buffets during my visit that are their favorites and I have to say I was NOT disappointed with either one. Once again, I wish there was a place of this quality near me back in Florida. I stopped going because I was always disappointed. Maybe I will give the local places another shot and see how...
Read moreWe recently had the pleasure of dining at Asian Buffet & Grill with family and friends, and it turned out to be an exceptional experience. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant’s warm and inviting atmosphere made us feel at ease. It’s an ideal setting for casual gatherings, celebrations, or even a simple dinner with loved ones.
The buffet offered an impressive variety of dishes, blending the rich flavors of Asian cuisine with a few Western favorites, ensuring that everyone in our group found something they enjoyed. Highlights included freshly made sushi, savory stir-fried noodles, popular fried dishes, and a delicious selection of grilled meats. For dessert lovers, the buffet featured a range of sweet treats, including fresh fruit, pastries, and ice-cream.
What stood out the most was the food quality. Despite the reasonable pricing, the dishes were prepared with care, delivering authentic and bold flavors. The extensive options also allowed us to customize our meals, making it a fun and satisfying dining experience.
The service was equally commendable. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, frequently checking in to clear plates and ensure we had everything we needed. Their friendly demeanor added a personal touch that enhanced our overall enjoyment.
In terms of value, Asian Buffet & Grill exceeded our expectations. The combination of quality, variety, and affordability is hard to beat, making it a fantastic choice for anyone seeking a fulfilling dining experience without breaking the bank.
I highly recommend Asian Buffet & Grill to anyone in search of delicious Asian food, excellent service, and a...
Read moreI had to say, I had a bad experience with Asian buffet and grill about 9 years ago and I've only ever went there probably once every 2 years since then. But man, I went today and I was blown away, TLDR, give them a shot! More details: The dessert selection was greatly expanded, from the cultural tradition desserts in the Asian buffet that they're typically is, they have almost every version of them out at all times now, the ice cream they've added a freezer with 10 different options of different ice cream bars and even dairy-free options. In the same dessert section they added American versions of candy and other dry sweets. Every available pan in the buffet was stocked up and warm and honestly better tasting than I remember, A few more specific examples would be like their crab meat rangoons, I'm not sure what they changed but they're now easy to bite through and they are soft but still tasty, and the shrimp bacon that they added is awesome,. The sushi bar was kept nice and cold and regularly stocked with over 10 different options of sushis along with some creative ones I haven't seen at a buffet yet. We went during during the most expensive time of the week and for two adults a 4-year-old and a 1-year-old It was only $60 out the door after tip and tax. Coming off of vacation in Chicago that was ridiculously cheap to feed all four of us, let alone all we can eat and multiple options for desserts! And it only gets...
