The experience wasn't terrible, but you'll never catch me referring this place to anybody and you'll never catch me back on any of their bowling lanes. For starters, this was my first time in a place that charges by the hour instead of by the game, so I was honestly shocked to hear that I was paying $30+ for a single game because I have two small kids, 3 and 5, who take extra time to play. Not saying maybe $30 per hour isn't normal because obviously I don't know, but I am saying that, by comparison, this was a pretty pricey visit and I really wish I had checked pricing before showing up. My bad. Also on the subject, I was even more shocked to see that paying by the hour was meant seriously and that if you don't finish your game before your time runs out, they shut you down and you either forfeit or pay extra to finish. Now, you would think that, with those kinds of prices, they would at least have a nice facility and quality machinery, etc., right? Well, think again. There's nothing special about it, unless you're in the "cosmic lanes" or whatever they call them, which, of course, cost extra. The provided seating was uncomfortable and awkwardly crowded, the place looked generally run down and unimpressive, and the part that really got under my skin was the fact that every two or three player changes, the machine would drop/knock over a pin...or two...or three, leaving that player without their full set to start. At the end of the night, when we brought that fact up to employees, just as a general "so-you-know", instead of offering apologies, explanations, or some kind of rectification for a customer's dissatisfaction, three of them all started rambling angrily about "new management" and how "six months ago, we only had three lanes open," and blah, blah, blah about improvements to their facilities, which...okay? Good for y'all, but that doesn't change the fact that your equipment is faulty and you're charging prices outside of your quality range. What if we had been there for anything other than just keeping the kids busy? Would our concerns have been met differently or would you say the same thing to a person who maybe cares a little more about the technicalities of the game? Whatever. It was just rude and uncalled for. In conclusion, I'm generally unhappy with our visit and won't be returning. They get two stars because their cocktails were actually worth ordering....
Read moreWorst bowling experience in my life. My 8 y.o. son wanted to go bowling for his birthday, so after hours of researching online, we chose Splitz. Mind you, I live 80 miles away from there. I chose Spliz due to the fantastic pictures on the website. However, when I walked in the building, I immediately realized the pictures must have been old. The staff member checking us in started off the conversation by complaining about a large group of 20 people that came in right before me without making a reservation. Then, when I asked about the cosmic bowling, he told me he had never heard of it and had no idea what I was talking about. Anyways, we finally got to the bowling part. He told us we had to rent a more expensive lane because there were no more family ones left. We rented the lane for 1 hour. During this hour, my family spent at least 20 minutes of intermittent down time due to the pin machine not properly working. Out of all the times the machine was not working, 1 time an employee went to fix the issue. All the other times, we just waited for it to self correct. Furthermore, while attempting to bowl, I went towards the lane and tried to slide (as one does during bowling). The floor was so dry with a lack of wax, my foot literally stopped sliding, causing me to fall. During this time, I ordered a drink from the bar area. The alcohol in the drink tasted sour, as if it was out of date or something. On my way out the building, I mentioned the pin machine not working properly causing our time to be shortened to an employee at the counter, to which he replied by stating "oh, ok" and then turned away from me. I qould give a lower rating if I could, however 1 star will have to do. I do not recommend anyone going here, at least until they make some major improvements, nor will I return. This was a giant waste...
Read moreHad a surprisingly bad experience with the front clerk Kacey. She had a really bad attitude towards a couple of the people in my group, even though they never gave her any trouble. When they came in with a drink, instead of politely asking them to discard it, Kasey was immediately snooty and condescending towards them even after my friend threw it away without a fuss.
But it just kept getting worse. The same two in our group tried to reserve a lane for all of us and returned with a buzzer saying how the same clerk kept talking down to them and giving them a hard time. Our group actually joked that the buzzer we got wasn't gonna go off because of how much Kasey didnt like my two friends.
And after about 30 minutes of seeing plenty of lanes open and people walking though the door getting lanes immediately, I decided to walk up with my friends and just check on the status of our reservation. The second Kasey saw us, without us having a chance to say anything to her, she snapped at us with a "Ugh, you're LITERALLY next.." so we went back with the buzzer and gathered the rest of our group to pay and get shoes.. only to get up there and OOPS it seems your reservation was "accidentally" deleted.
Eventually she gave us one of the multiple open lanes and we were able to shake off her bad attitude and have a good time together. Bar staff was excellent at least! Food and drinks were delicious! Though, my two friends don't want to go back there for the foreseeable future the way they were treated by the clerk, and I don't blame them. They even got a mean glare from Kasey when simply returning their shoes! It was...
