Update: When we had checked out after arriving to our filthy room and even worse replacement room we had asked for a refund and were told by the front desk we would receive our full refund back to our card within a few business days. We waited for a few weeks and still didn’t receive a refund. We called the front desk to check on this and were told by them that they had done everything they needed to do on their end to issue a refund and that we needed to deal with a third party, Expedia, to receive it. We booked our hotel through Amex Travel so we contacted them for help. Amex called the front desk on our behalf and found out that the “hotel” had not done anything to start the refund process. Thankfully Amex was willing to refund us our costs themselves and they would continue to work on getting payment from the hotel instead. Watch your credit card statements closely because they will lie their way out of issuing a refund. When we pulled in we were surprised to see that this was a motel rather than a hotel. The rooms were accessible from the outside rather than inside the main building through a lobby. The parking lot was very poorly lit, extremely tore up, and full of pot holes. Walking into the lobby to check in we were greeted with a sun damaged and stained Quality Inn rug (a terrible first impression). The lobby was very humid and there were long lines for check in. They also asked for the make and model of our car which seemed unnecessary, but we were told it was in case of any complaints or incidents. Not entirely sure what that means. After receiving our key we drive around to the back of the building to our room. We walk in and within 10 seconds there’s a cockroach scurrying across the desk. The room was humid and smelled terrible. The ceiling was full of cobwebs and there was a massive spider. We ventured to the bathroom where there were even more cockroaches chilling on the ground. We went back to the front desk to wait in line again and asked for a different room. They gave us another room no problem. When we went back to that room we were relieved to find that the room did not have a bad smell and wasn’t as humid as the room before. However, when we took another look we noticed how filthy the furniture and mattress were. The mattress looked like it had decomp on it. I can only assume that was mold. The chair had significant water damage and staining. The comforter also had a massive palm sized stain right on top. There were also still live cockroaches in the bathroom. We went back to the front desk and asked for a refund and checked out right away to check in at another hotel for our three night stay. I do not recommend trying to save a buck to stay here. The rooms are way overpriced for the experience you get. Quality Inn, more like Low Quality Inn

In all honestly, it was a place to sleep. However the photos do not match up to what you get, and we are 99% sure there was so much mold in the room. When we first walked in we noticed the horrible smell. The beds are not the same showed in the photos and overall I would say it wasn’t the cleanest. I booked through Hotwire and because of that I decided it was just easier to not deal with moving rooms. Also when we paid through Hotwire it was $117 for two nights and when we got there they didn’t realize we paid originally and it would’ve been 106 if we just booked through their sight however, I will say the front desk lady’s were very nice and check in was fast. There is a $50 security deposit when you check into the hotel you have to pay. Also the tv didn’t work and the Ac wasn’t really working the best. Also the photos are taken after our stay. So it was a little messy.

I called at about 1am to the front desk that I had roaches and room was filthy. I go to Gainesville to visit my daughter. she had to come at 1am to pick up my wife as my wife would not sleep here. I had to stay there with my son and did not sleep as there was little roaches in the back of my bed in the wood behind bed. I have pictures and videos (I only added two but have many and videos too). Staff is very rude and thinks they are doing you the favor. Any other chain would have refunded me on the spot. I tried calling the choicehotels and all they say sorry independently own so you have to deal with them. Horrible!! Stay away from any hotel that is owned by Choice Hotels. I picked this hotel because they advertise as being pet friendly, it was near the ball fields, and they are reasonably priced, on the surface. We arrived about an hour before their 3 PM check in time, traveling in from out of state. Every time this has happened at ANY other hotel, and we travel a ton for softball, folks always graciously let us check in early. Here, they informed me it was an additional $20 plus taxes to do so. We agreed to pay it as we were exhausted and needed to get a nap in before the first game. The receptionist rushed thru a bunch of hotel policies, pool hours and so on, and mentioned there would be a penalty for not following the pet policy. I knew there was a size limit on dogs, and mine is small, so I knew we're okay on that. We go to the room, unload the car, get settled in, and go to put the TV on for my autistic nephew. No matter what we try, we can't get it to come on. He is pacing back and forth, because the TV is soothing to him and he stresses out without it. My other nephew is an electronics wiz, so he goes thru the typical debugging steps not once, but five times to try and get it to work. Finally I call the front desk and they say they are sending maintenance. A short while later, the gal shows up at the door and says they're going to move us to another room. We proceed to gather up all our stuff and switch rooms. So all this kills that hour we paid for to check in early (there goes the nap). The next thing I know, we get told there is a $100 penalty for the dog because we didn't disclose we had one. This is because they now have to "disinfect the room and sanitize the a/c unit". Huh? Apparently those with pets are only allowed to stay in the pet designated rooms. So I tell them to move us into one of those rooms. They tell me it's too late, they will have to sanitize the rooms already. Now, raise your hand if you think they sanitized the room we were in with the broken TV. Plus she informs us we will have to pay another $20 per night pet fee (with 15% taxes added of course).

The assistant manager accuses me of sneaking in a pet to avoid paying that fee. I advise her I just paid a $45 per night fee at a (much nicer) hotel the week before for my pet, but they also asked me at check in if I had one traveling with me. After a 12 hour drive with a car full of kids, all I'm wanting to do is get in a nap before we head to the ball field. If the pet thing is this big of a deal, then why dont they ask people when they check in if they have one? Then if they lie about it, go ahead and charge a fee.

So we get in this lengthy debate about all this, at which point the assistant manager I'm talking to advises me she has already fixed that TV, and it only took her 2 minutes. She keeps rubbing my nose in it, intimating we were just too stupid to turn on a TV. She refuses to waive the early check in fee, despite the fact that we actually didn't get in a room where everything worked until the darn 3 PM check in time. She had made up her mind that we were a bunch of thieving, lying, sneak pets in kind of people, and she was going to punish us for it. We ended up needing to stay longer for play off games, but we packed up and moved ourselves to another hotel for the remainder of our stay (the Red Roof Plus, where dogs do stay free and there was no extra fee for ANYTHING).

The icing on top of the cake though, was that by the time we checked out of that Quality Inn, we were covered in bites. My sisters ears were chewed up, and all of us had been bitten by something. This place should be zero stars, and that manager should be banned from working in the hospitality business. Go look at my review of the Red Roof and stay there. It's just as reasonable, more so because they don't make up ridiculous reasons to nickle and dime you to death. But if you do stay at that Quality Inn, check your room out carefully for bugs before you...

I personally don't know where to start. My bf and I were there for the Rock and Country Festival. I have been to Nice and Exclusive Hotels and also Fly By Night ones as well due to the Budget at the time. But I will have to say the Fly By Night ones I stayed at were the Best compared to this Hotel. So my Bf and I Check In Early and was able to in which I was so appreciative on that after a 2 hr and 15 mins drive which was a long one. But our day wasn't over because we got there on Day 1 of the concert. So we check in and start unloading our stuff in the room and we go turn the Lights on and see 3 German Cockroaches dropping from the Head of Bed Set. We look at eachother and rolled our eyes. So we then started to partially Unpack out bags and I go check the bathroom and see there is a Tub and I Got Super Excited. But if you wld have saw it was fully rusted. But hey its a Tub in which I was happy to have. So then we go unpack and discuss our plans. And he said let's get the bed somewhat ready. I said okay so he pulls the Comforter back and the sheets Peeled back and came off. I was like what? So I go look at it and they have a King Set of Sheets on a Queen Bed. Like seriously!?!? Then he goes to peel back the Top Sheet and it was full of Sand and very Grindy. I was like, you are in Fl. Relax. But then he goes to turn up the air and out Pops 2 more German Cocroaches. I was thinking if that doesn't beat all. So I go to the office and start to get super excited abt my Tub and I step over from the room to the curb and there is a Trash Can full of 2 Heaping Hills of Trash out front of the Hotel mind you this is my first day of arrival and was thinking Maybe Housekeeping didn't come that day or were short staff. So I go into the office and wait for someone which took 15 to 20 min wait for someone to reach the front desk and I go to ask her Hi Ma'am is possible that I can get a Tub Stopper? She responds to me saying We don't have any, guess steal them. I was like who would actually steal a Rusted Old Fashion Tub Stopper? So after the Concert and take a shower and my bf says... Babe use this! And it's a wash cloth and so I stopped the water with a Wash Cloth. I was in so much disbelief abt this room and totally disgusted. But stayed Positive and cldnt wait to get out of there. Day 2 I wake up and step outside the Garbage Out front was filled with more Trash. So we go Day 2 to our Concert come back and left the lights on and see Palmatto Bugs. I don't mind seeing them.... But German Cocroaches are a Major Problem for me. So all and all my stay is what you see. Came home relaxed and sent a email June 10th and No response or call but did call for the last 4 days with a total of 8 phone calls all different times just to get a manger. So I through a email out to the Aimee the Manager and no response and then call this morning and got hung up all in asking for someone Higher then the Manager and the answer I got was that don't know who it is and was told by the front desk that when he hired in he didn't get that info which I felt was a Lie. What job doesn't allow a employee to know people and their numbers Higher up do to Legal Actions and more? So while at work today I get a call from the Manager mind you it's 4 days letter 1 email and another email thrown out there due to the Hang up from the Office Staff when I caught him in lies. So I talked to her and to sum up this review she only gave me 20 percent off the room making it a total of 220 dollars. So this money was the worse spent ever. I don't ever complain but thought I wld share this with all of you. If you want a Nasty, Infested Bug and Garbage Looking Place..... This is the perfect place for you. Only Staff I liked there was Nichol but the others need help too. Never again!! Pure Grossness this...

Fleas and mold! ---- We left within an hour and a half with no refund or resolution. The Manager Nicole refused a refund or a new room, just new sheets to accommodate for the mold and fleas!

We checked in to this hotel on 3/12/22 and entered the room at 5:20. ( I know this because I have timestamps on my phone where my husband called me when I was still in the restroom in the lobby at 5:11pm.) Immediately we were hit with the smell of mold and old cigarette smoke. The bathroom ceiling had bubbling paint with rust and mold coming from around the fixture on the ceiling. Then when sitting on the bed, fleas starting to jump on me. My husband went and told the manager who said they could not change our room because they didn't have any available. They refused a refund because we had been there over 2 hours (We were there less than 2 hours, it was 1 hour and a half. The locations are tracked on our phones from Life360). They instead offered to change our sheets. Fleas do not just leave with the bed sheets, they are in the room. We told them no, with the mold and fleas in the room, we cannot be expected to stay in the room with those conditions. So we checked out and left. (When we were gathering our things, the front desk lady came and "checked" the bed by flinging the sheets around as if she were looking for the bugs she probably just flung onto the floor). They later called us telling us that they had a room available to move us to. We said, no, we checked out and gave you the keys. Their response was "Oh, I think I have the wrong number." SO that tells me they moved someone else in the room they claimed they would not be able to reimburse us for because they couldn't put anyone else in the room because we were in there. Emails to the GM have gone with no response.

Question: why would it matter if we were in the room for 5 minutes or 5 hours. If the room has fleas, mold and smells terrible and you can't do anything about it, why would you subject your guest to make a decision to risk their health and comfort over $250. How could you morally and in good faith subject a 6 year old to those conditions and a person with asthma?

Just pay the extra money and stay somewhere else. Don't risk your health with the mold and disease carrying fleas. By the way, why are almost all the positive reviews anonymous?

To GM Nicole VanKempen : I have sent you two emails to your listed email on the receipt requesting resolution to refund the $256.48. I have not received a response. It is unfair and unethical to conduct business in this manor. We could not stay in the room due to the conditions and health concerns. A unsatisfactory resolution was to change the bedsheets, which would not resolve the bug issue, mold and cigarette smell. You were not able to provide a satisfactory resolution of a new room, therefore, the only resolution would be a refund. I would have gladly moved into another room. The only thing that was used in that room was the one bed. We were not there long enough to even wash our hands. As stated above, I have timestamped phone calls and location tracking on my phone, as well as receipts and check in times to the new hotel that night. I also have timestamped phone call from your hotel, which was the phone call offering to change our room that was not meant for us. Again, I ask for a full refund of...
