We recently held my son's birthday party at the Flip Factory and I definitely saw improvement with many of the concerns I had when I wrote the first review. Specifically, the employees were more observant and and they did a better job enforcing the rules to minimize the risk of children getting injured.
Our party planner Emily was excellent and our party host Alex did an awesome job! I also dealt with one of the supervisors named Craig. He definitely went out of his way to ensure me and my guests had a great experience.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
The good: Excellent facility with quality equipment. Definitely a great way for your kids to burn off energy. Nice concession area that sells decent food that kids will actually eat.
The Bad: My area of concern has to do with some of the staff members. Most of them are young and don't appear to take their job seriously. Specifically they do not enforce the rules that the company has put in place to help prevent kids from getting injured.
Kids are obviously there to have fun and get wild, however it became an issue when some of the older/bigger kids were jumping in the foam pits on top of smaller/younger kids. A 14-15yr, 150lb boy nearly landed on the head of a 3yr old. Two employees witnessed the incident but did nothing.
I approached two employees about a half hour later and asked them what the policy was on multiple kids jumping in the pit at the same time. Their response was something along the lines of.....we are pretty lade back around here...they aren't supposed to do that but we don't really say anything unless they are hurting the other kids.
I witnessed a similar incident about three weeks earlier. On that occasion, the employee actually assisted the child and made sure he was okay but said nothing to the other kid who landed on him.
It's my responsibility to supervise my kids but I shouldn't have to be constantly on guard watching all the others in a place that has employees that are being paid to do so.
It's definitely not cheap to go there but as I mentioned earlier its a nice facility with quality equipment. I think the price is justified if they can do a better job training...
Read moreWe purchased memberships for our kids to get us through the heat of the summer. I realize there are limited hours for the passes and we have no problem with that, but they advertise that they have a cafe yet it doesn't open till noon. Our passes have blackout hours on weekends starting at noon. My kids keep asking for popcorn as I told them when we first went that they had a cafe and we could get some. First time we went, I asked when I saw the popcorn machine was empty and they said they only have it on weekends. Okay...now we went on a weekend but the cafe doesn't open till we have to stop jumping and leave. We left around 11:45 and there was no popcorn being made in anticipation of it being noon. I'm not going to wait around for them to make popcorn so I can spend even more money. Sorry, that's just the reality of it.
The trampoline park itself is alright. We only have one other place to compare with and the other place was better in some ways, but my kids really like the basketball hoops here and the obstacle course (which is sort of small and limited). It seems like it takes forever to get checked in and they could use some more front desk staff. It took awhile to get signed up also, so maybe it's just a matter of a slow POS system? Not sure, but I would like to see less waiting around at the front desk in the future. The other attractions look okay but almost nobody is ever on them when we have been there. The prices for that stuff are too high for our budget, personally.
The staff roaming and enforcing the rules are mostly friendly. I have chatted with one gentleman a couple of times. Then there are the ones who just walk around staring at their phones.
Edit: Probably an hour after I left this review, the operator of the facility called and personally apologized and offered popcorn on the house next time we go. He apologized for disappointed kids and that they are willing to serve anyone who might want something if they ring the bell on the cafe counter even if the cafe hasn’t opened just yet. I thought that was really nice so I’m bumping them up a star. Most companies don’t admit when they can do better and I appreciate those who...
