Didn't want to leave. Very nice place, exquisite people, great, full hot breakfast with pastries, scrambled eggs (fake), waffles, biscuits, gravy, much much more. Coffee was found to be cold twice in the evening but when I told them they fixed it and told me I could make it in my room. Just theirs was so good and strong, I liked it better. Fax machine that you have to wait till morning for the manager to do for you. (Bad thing) I notice allot of people working reviews complaining about the dogs.. I'll say this.. I arrived, I asked if there was a dog show because so many at registration? The customers said no you're at a dog hotel, we laughed. I've been very depressed since my SVC dog passed 2/16/17 & there was a young English Spaniel that caught my heart. The hallways had no odor, nor did the rooms. It was awesome. Great gym. Pool isn't heated though. The only problem was I've stayed on much more comfortable beds. Plus flat pillows, which honestly bugs me as I wander how old they are (rather cheap they're purchasing) when it's a new place. The next day upon coming down the hall I was like wow it smells like someone literally allowed their dog to urinate down the whole floor; yes it was that bad. I mentioned it at the front desk and the clerk said thank you for letting me know. It would be fixed immediately. I was like I'm not trying to cause anyone extra work it was just last night, I was like what are all of these comments; it smells so fresh. She said no extra work, they have a shampooer just for this reason; but if no one tells them, then they don't know. You can become accustomed to odors. Needless to say as I was leaving my room the young man was shampooing the hallway and upon my return mmm it smelled nice and clean again. My room had no odors. It also had fridge, coffee pot, micro BEHIND bathroom door. Very odd how you don't see it and then when do you feel like such a idiot but they said everyone says the same thing. The first morning I was woken by some man, older bald, heavy set man banging on a door, screaming housekeeping and the lady on the other side kept saying who is it? The two of them did this four times, until I opened my door stared down the hall, he apologized and that was that. Never was woke again during my four days. It's on my list for places to stay in area. It also had a Pepper's down the road that is excellent value, excellent service and EXCELLENT food. Red lobster on back side of parking lot that I would not eat at. Worst service ever on a extremely slow night. Rude waitress that the mngr made excuses for and the gm wouldn't even come out to speak on. We left without eating but two, yes two coconut shrimp (1each on a ultimate and pick four platter). Bread was hard, overcooked. It was a horrific experience and the most upsetting thing was the mister doesn't like to eat out, in restaurants; but fish, you have to... Then this experience. Don't eat there. Ruby's to your left, Pepper's to your right and if you get back on the fwy headed south two miles you have all sorts of choices. People in the area and at the Hotel are very friendly. Great experience other than...
Read moreDon't stay at this nice looking chain hotel if you want a good night sleep; it just looks sleek on the outside but it is not designed for good sleep. I contacted the manager Sheila Bailey regarding our issues and didn't get a response.
The window of our room had a very bright light outside right above the window and the curtains were too short and too narrow by several inches!! Because of this, the bright light from outside shone into the room from under the curtain as well as left & right. We tried everything we could including putting pillows all around & tucking the curtain into the window frame but it didn't help because the fabric is so thick and stiff and sticks away from the wall creating gaps between the wall & curtain.
In addition, traffic from the highway nearby was very loud throughout the night despite the fact that the hotel is offset from the road (and that's one of the reasons we chose it as we wanted a quiet night sleep); and got much worse around 5am in the morning when traffic intensified with loud honking every few minutes. When I tried to turn the fan on to drown out the traffic noise, the fan would not turn on even when set on High. I checked the windows because I could not believe how loud it was given the distance to the highway; it appeared that the window had cracks around the frame which allows the noise from the outside to come into the room. The windows are a single plexiglass panel. There is also no significant sound barrier between the road and the hotel in the form of vegetation or buildings.
I don't think I slept more than a few minutes the entire night and the other person woke up repeatedly and had very poor sleep. I have stayed at many chain hotels & this was one of the worst in terms of the light & noise situation. Even worse, we spent more than $200 for a sleepless night; there were several other less expensive hotels we could have gone to but chose you because we thought LaQuinta Hotels provide a quality (or at least...

Starting with the positives. The bathrooms are spacious, the TV was nice and channel selection good, but very unprofessional and unsafe to have a remote in the room with no back to it, especially when the family has a young child in tow. Positives… bed is super soft (great if you like it that way) and so are the pillows; foyer is fantastic and the check in was super slow, but friendly and nice staff.
And that’s what kept this from being a 1 star review.
The room otherwise is abysmal. The mildew smell is so insanely bad. This is the second worst room I’ve ever been in. And there weren’t any other available rooms so nothing we can do. Wife became super sick and the kids have been exposed too… and I’ve had more than enough mold and mildew in my life. There is no way they don’t know this room is this bad. It’s absolutely impossible. The question is how many other rooms are like this… well, apparently the other room the rest of our family stayed in was as well. WTH!? Whether it’s the abhorrent wall air conditioner, or the currently non-functioning business fridge that has spewed gross amounts of water and humidity into this room… or both, there is absolutely no way this hotel could pass even the most lenient of safety tests. The carpet is slimy and disgusting, the fridge doesn’t work, the shower leaks water all over the floor, the air con is more humidity than cold (and is super loud), the vents are caked with dust…. It’s just disgusting and is in dire need of room based renovation.
This seems to be a La Quinta standard. I’ve only stayed at one clean hotel in this chain in the last 10 yrs. The rest have been terrible and not worth the cost. Had to get this room in a pinch, but next time I’d rather...
