My package was supposed to be delivered to my front porch on October 11th. On the day I was expecting the package to arrive, it did not appear on my front porch, and I was at home awaiting the arrival all day. I checked package tracking. The tracking site stated my package had been delivered on October 9th, and was delivered to my front porch. This was absolutely false! It was NOT delivered to my front porch. Nor did anyone knock on my door to alert me of the package's arrival. Since the tracking site stated it had been delivered, I began to search all around my house. I finally found my package, soaking wet, the box breaking down, and covered with leaves and debris, sitting in a chair on my exposed patio in my backyard! My package had spent 2 days and the passage of Hurricane Michael's rains and winds out in my backyard totally exposed! I am totally disgusted. I have tried and tried to reach the Post Office on Green Street, in Gainesville, Ga. because this is what Post Office is listed as handling my package on the tracking label. I have not been able to get anyone to answer the telephone. The Post Office is open. The times that I have called are not times listed as times when they are not available. There is no excuse in this shabby service. On October 17th, after days and days of trying to reach the Gainesville Green Street Post Office, I contacted the USPS Customer Service Office and reported the fact that this Post Office NEVER answers its phone. Since I was unable to speak with anyone local about my package, the incident concerning the delivery of my package has been reported to USPS Customer Service too. The Gainesville, Georgia Post Office on Green Street should, and needs to answer its telephone, and not just leave it off the hook, so all you get, day after day, is a busy tone....
Read moreMy experience echoes so many before. This place is another example of a useless government entity. They don't or won't deliver packages, too hard to get out of the truck I suppose. Strange, private companies UPS & FedEx delivered without an issue. I determined the carrier spent all of 14 minutes with my package before declaring it undeliverable. That's not long enough to make the drive to my address from their worthless facility. I went in person and asked for my package they couldn't tell me where it was. I find out they still have it 10 days later and are returning it to the sender. Like so many others state, their phone is always busy, even at 6:30 AM and I know they’re not there then. After I requested an inquiry and got a call back I asked for the name and number of the Post Master which I was told they would have to get for me. After more questioning I concluded the caller too was from this location so I asked for the name and number again. I was offered only a first name and no number other than the one that doesn't ring. Seems they protect their own. What a joke, shut down the whole USPS and privatize it. We'd have efficiency, service, better pricing and a job that actually gets done. Oh, the only reason there is one star is you can't post without it. Negative stars should...
Read moreAvoid this Postal Office at all costs!!! I attempted to cash a Postal Money order. They didn’t have enough cash in the drawer. First I was told they could only offer only $200 of the $800 on the money order I attempted to cash. Then they told they could give me $700 and SELL me another money order for the unpaid balance and then I would have to once again wait in line again to a see a different cashier to cash/collect the remaining hundred dollars. Andy was the WORST At customer service and an example of any postal worker I have ever met/experienced! He is a prime example of why the Postal Service is failing. Take this is a fair warning along with other reviews left here as a reason why you should avoid this post office at all costs! They were also not following social distancing guidelines nor wearing any protective gear or Sarah lives in her hands between customers. Is it has her to anyone’s health during this unfortunate crisis. I strongly suggest any management reading this review that they take abrupt immediate action how their policies are put in place at this location and also review Andy in any previous altercations he’s had with customers. He’s going to cost you ultimately to lose his location and a more Failure and...
